My wife and I enjoy taking some trips to various places. We usually stay two nights or so and like to hang around downtown where we can walk at night where we want to go. I've asked about a few places on here before (Louisville I know) but actually heard Paducah was kind of a cool place to visit. We love hitting up Franklin here in Tennessee and someone told us it was sort of similar. Anyway, looked around online and it looked like it had some potential. Looks there are plenty of places to walk around and hit up downtown and this 1857 hotel looked like a cool place to stay. Nonsense or a pretty legit little trip for a couple of days?

Paducah is ok, they have some kind of either bbq or music festival every summer, should be coming up soon. Ots called Barbecue by the river iirc but they have a stage and bands.

if i was gonna plan a trip around paducah id def check out that festival, its pretty fun if ur into that scene. Its dowtown by the river. No clue if they plan to do it with covid.

As far as run of the mill stuff i have no clue its just a bigish city i mean there are obv bars and clubs but no stand out tourist attractions i can think of, u can get to the lakes which are close if u like that sort of thing.

Im not sure pducah is a walking around type city its pretty spread out, guess depends where u stay. Eat at chongs tho if u like chinese, its fire.

Theres also a hot august blues fest close to lbl coming up. Not exactly im paducah but 30 mins away. But dunno if they doing it with covid????

Dowtown pducah is nice tho if we are talking about where the river is. Also there a dispensary and casino right across the river in metropolis 👍

Downtown is totally different than when I was a kid, it was where everything from Sears to movie theaters were. Now all of that stuff is out around the mall (exit 4 on I-24). People have opened up small businesses in downtown so it is kind of neat to walk up and down Broadway. There is a steak house called Doe's Eat Place around 2nd and Broadway that has big steaks that are really good. There is a walk in brewery on Jefferson street, that's one street over from Broadway.
Downtown is not big, just old and interesting.

Thanks. Yeah, from the map it looks like downtown by the river (which is where that hotel is we would probably stay in) there are a lot of restaurants and some shops and stuff, which is kind of the sort of things we do when we don't have the kids.

If you do visit Paducah and try Doe's Eat Place, make reservations because they fill up often.
