If I could make it happen? No! I like Self but he’s just not a guy I would want at UK.
Id trade Cal for a six pack and a ham sandwich right now.

I was genuinely curious. Their success is even. both 4 finals fours with these schools and 1 title. Due to Bill helping develop lower ranked recruits had me curious.

Yup. I'm sure there are some Kentucky fans that would trade Cal for Self. I would bet most wouldn't. That said, I doubt there are ANY KU fans that would trade Self for Cal after these last couple of years.
No, however, if Self were to leave (common thought in lawrence is Self doesn't want to coach into his 70's like roy or k., I believe he is 59)... But lets say Bill leaves for the NBA, I would 100% take Cal. He was a assistant at KU to Larry Brown and met his wife here. But I wouldn't trade them.
Jay Wright isn't leaving Villanova. He's already proven he can win there and obviously isn't too concerned about money since UCLA was willing to double his salary and he didn't budge.
Plus, Jay's success is because he is a regional star. He recruits tough ass East Coast dudes. You are getting playboys out West. Not his style.
Wright has already declined interviews with UK twice, after Tubby and after Gillispie.

Changing defenses. Changing pick and roll coverage. Running ANYTHING that doesn't end up in a high pick and roll or an iso. I've seen Self blow Cal's mind by going box and 1 or triangle and 2. St. Peter's went to a matchup zone late and Cal was lost. His entire zone offense is 1) get it to the high post and hope a dude can make a shot or 2) ball reversal, penetration, attempted lob. Only time I have ever seen him screen a zone is when it's a lob play.
That's true, actually. WKU had a higher NET ranking, KenPom, etc. than Louisville so Mack did the Cats a favor. What a nice guy! 😆
Biggest crock of bull ever. I have obsessed about KU recruiting for 16 years. All the websites, all the insiders. Here are a list of names that were at one point either a lock to KU or leaning KU
Collin Sexton, Tre Young, Charlie Villaneuva, Caleb Tarcewski (however you spell his name) Malik Hairston, DeAndre Ayton, Julius Randle, Zion Williamson, Willie Warren, Greg Monroe, Shabazz Muhammad.
And that is off the top of my head. Not to mention the dozens of 50/50 guys like Jahlil Okafor.
If KU cheats, they suck @zz at cheating. KU has been cheated from guys over and over and over. Carlton ****ing Bragg? That is who they cheat for? Come on you're not that stupid.

What everyone fails to talk about when the Self cheats stuff comes up if half those dudes didn’t make it to KU. The other half involved never played a minute once it was discovered or served their time as suspended by NcAA. Makes no sense. Adidas did nothing other companies didn’t do and to ignore that you are blind.
So if you fail to get the money when you try to rob a bank then you are not arrested for bank robbery?
