Yuarchek(Arkansas AD) was the AD at Houston.....

Houston is the better job imo.

Oats to Bama was a step up. I don't necessarily think Arkansas is a step up from Houston.

I can definitely see him going there with the ties. He can only do so much in the aac, and if he wants to be on a bigger stage with a top conference he will go there. Houston opened the door for him to get back into the ncaa. At Arkansas he will be able to get even better players. I would love to have him in the sec as it will only make us stronger

IDK, I think playing in the SEC >>> AAC. I think playing teams like UK, Florida, Tennessee, Auburn etc... is better than playing in a mid major conference.

Arkansas fans are passionate as hell and they have a title and FF in the mid 90's.

I doubt Sampson makes the move since Houston did so much for him, but Arkansas is a better job.

IU/Arkansas started a home/home series. They play in Bloomington next year.

Oh, my....

The guy who done that for him, is now at Arkansas....

And yes, Arkansas is easily the better job. MOF, damn near any job in the SEC is better than the Houston job.

Oh I get it, the guy that hired him is now at Arky, but that entire Houston basketball community really took that guy in. It'll be inyinteresting see what he does.

He's a damn good coach.

Yeah. There’s some buzz building that Sampson to Arkansas is a done deal. Hopefully this serves a distraction for them.

I’m both happy and sad to see Anderson go. Dude was a dick and his teams were starting to play us kind of dirty but Cal has owned him lately.

Sampson is an underrated coach. I think we’ll win Friday but I wouldn’t be shocked if he got us.

Arkansas is by leaps and bounds the better job. And it ain't close. Better conference...more exposure....More money.....I mean HR, you are smarter than this.

I don't like the appeal of Arkansas. It's a middle to lower of the pack SEC team. I wouldn't take it over Houston. There are solid coaches in the AAC. Once UConn turns it around, they will be a 3 bid league. If Penny is any count, then a 4 bid. Cincinnati does good every year with Mick.

Just my opinion though. Arkansas just doesn't ring any bell to me at all.

They both have very similar history even with Houston always being in a lower conference.

You’re pretty young, right? Like in college still?

If so I get what you’re saying but I’ll let you know that the Arkansas job is still pretty highly regarded and is head and shoulders way above the Houston job. Arkansas might only be behind Florida/Kentucky in terms of prestige in the SEC. There’s a reason why there is always rumors coming from them that Bill Self is interested in the job when it opens up (LOL). I think this time their fans are wanting Billy Donovan. I think for now many people still see it as a highly prestigious job in CBB and it would be a huge step up for Kelvin Sampson.

“Siri, who is Nolan Richardson?”

Yes. The last time they made a sweet sixteen was before I was born.

Arkansas has been the only team that can put as many butts in the seats at the SEC tournament as UK. If they get to winning, they'll do it again. They're starving for a good basketball program. There's a lot of money around Fayetteville. They had success during Sutton's and Richardson's time there.

they had some good teams that choked under Anderson

They just haven’t been able to get it going under Anderson. I think he had a little bad luck but I also think his style of play(40 minutes of hack and hold) finally caught up to him.

That last team with Portis was decent and should have went further than it did. And they had UNC beat in 2017 and the officials swallowed their whistles down the stretch.

Monk going to UK hurt them a little. That team is probably a 4 seed with him instead of an 8.

Then there was a year where he had to kick 2 of his rotation players(1 of them a veteran starter I think) off the team for doing something stupid.

He killed it at uab and Missouri. So much so at Missouri that I’m pretty sure frank Haith lived off the foundation Anderson had built there for 2 or 3 seasons before it fell apart.

Scotty, you have 00 in your name because that is your IQ level. #burned

This could possibly be the absolute weakest comeback I’ve ever seen! Did you really just use “#burned” like you did something?Laughing Like I told one of your UL brothers, I can’t take any UL fan trying to smack talk serious these days!

That was the joke...it was supposed to be an insanely corny joke

Why did Mack take the UL job..... It wasnt a step up from Xavier. I mean look UL only has like 150 wins this entire decade.

Another former B12 coach joining the SEC to slap Calipari around? Stay tuned...

I hope he leaves but don’t really think Arkansas is a better job. UH can pay the same, is in a much better city, has a brand new arena, less competition and the conference sends multiple teams to the tourney every year. He’ll never be better than a 3 seed at Arky.

SEC is a perfect spot for him. That's where the sleaze flourishes.
You might want to worry about your own program. Proven to be one of the dirtiest programs in decades. Problems with the NCAA every year. Players declared ineligible for taking money. Self on take discussing recruits with a known felon. Kansas is going down and Self will be running to the NBA soon.

I'm an Illinois fan, buddy. Couldn't tell by the big orange jersey on the left of my post? Shouldn't be surprised about a guy who attended UNC.
