Kansas at Villanova

Pretty big game today. This will be the 4th time they’ve played since 2016 with Villanova up 2-1 (both wins knocking KU out of the tournament). Villanova also stole some 5 star right out of KU’s backyard last year. I like this new rivalry between the 2 schools (kinda one-sided at the moment though).

I do think this is KU’s biggest game of the year so far. Kansas is the better team but it’s a road game just 4 days before Christmas. The team probably won’t even all travel back to Lawrence together after this game so you legit may have guys looking ahead towards next week. It’s the perfect “trap game”. How they perform will tell us a lot about whether or not they deserve that #1 ranking. Great Bill Self teams always excel in December. Good Bill Self teams always struggle in December.

Pretty subpar shooting so far by both teams but the defense has been pretty solid. It’s a pretty entertaining game if you like that kind of basketball.

Doesn’t hurt that they’re letting them get physical with us and not calling anything.

Our offense looked fine against Duke, so I’m not sure what you’re talking about. The struggles there were off the ball turnovers. We got to the hoop at ease. Passing wasn’t crisp.

Is De Sousa hurt? I haven’t watched much of Kansas this year but I don’t understand why McCormick is getting clock over de Sousa. I’m not gonna flat out call him trash off one game, but he hasn’t looked very good today. But I haven’t seen de Sousa out there at all.

And that makes 3 of us on nova jacking up threes. I think they had the same number of attempted threes as points in the first half.

This is maybe the 5th game I’ve seen all season. And it’s definitely the first time I’ve yelled during a game. I’m just glad I’m finally back into it. That was fun.
