Unfortunately, Montgomery lost his cool is the fracas and has been thrown out too. So, he cannot play in the first half of @ Texas next week! Baylor started it, but ISU lost their cool too. Dangnabit!

52 should be done forever. After he jumped over the ref to swing, he came down and caught the ref w a left slap to the face. Yeah, eff Baylor!

I like how one of the officials was all, "Well I need to break this up, but shit I need to throw a flag so people know what's up."

It takes two to tango, and ISU is equally guilty of participating in the nasty brawl. However, 2 plays before that play, David Montgomery was driven into the Gatorade Coolers by a Baylor defender. So, the Battle Royale had already commenced!

ISU could have had a gun on the field but it would still be unanimous that it was still Baylor's fault lol

    Screw Baylor.

ISU player but his knee on the Baylor players chest when he was down.......thats a no no.

#52 from Baylor is a street thug, that dummy will be suspended for that reach over the ref slap......it wasn't even a punch if you rewatch it. Then he tried to load up with a left and it looked like it missed(from the angle I saw).

When are the dumbasses gonna realize punching someone who HAS A HELMET ON has no effect, if anything you will break your hand. You have to rip their helmet OFF then punch them......geez.

Just like Andre Johnson from the Texans did a few years back against Finneran from the Titans.....thats how you do it!

A lot of things can happen to the guy at the bottom of the dog pile. Can’t rule it out.

52 from Baylor threw another punch, but connected with the referees chin.

I will never understand punching a player who has a helmet on

Is it the same as targeting?

    I haven't researched it yet.
But ultimately if Iowa St abandons the run like they did last year it doesn't matter who plays RB

Similar, but an appeal can be made to the Big Xii due to the circumstances. Montgomery might win the appeal, since he was originally run out of bounds and slammed into the coolers on the previous play then defended himself from the Baylor player who jumped the ref to attack him after the Butler play that led to the new flair up. Not holding my breath though, about the appeal. Either way, both teams are to blame for losing their cool. Not a good look for either team or any of the players. As for next week, ISU has other capable running backs, so I don't think it will effect the game. I have a sneaking suspicion that the winner of next week's game will make it to the Big Xii Championship Game and WIN it!

The Big XII will make their decision.
According to ESPN's Jake Trotter it is a decision made by the conference.
Montgomery can either play, suspended for a half or suspended for the entire game.
Because of putting the ref in danger I think he will be out at least the first half.

Think the game will be played very much like last year.
Think Texas would much rather play that style instead of running up and down the field.
So Montgomery missing the first half will not be that big of a deal unless Purdy cannot generate any offense what so ever.

Because how Iowa St plays Ehlinger will be able to tuck and run a lot like what Buechele did last year.
