......to be at Silver Tip in the Canadian Rockies tomorrow.

    Will I make it?

And by the way - heading in to Malta is so simplistic.

My experience in travel is you'll get there faster if you take it slow. Why rush?

Malta! Nope, Malta,Montana! I like Montana. Been to Jackson Hole a couple times. I don't have the scratch to live there though. It's too cold for me anyways.

Lol! I've only been to the Glacier National Park and crossed into Alberta as a child. Jackson Hole as a child also.
    My bad.

I'm assuming I went through Montana to reach Alberta. My stepdad was more interested in it than myself. I don't know. My memory sucks and I believe my alcohol consumption has eroded my memory for ordinary things. I guess it doesn't matter, but credibility lost is never fully regained. Luckily this is a message board.

I have a hard time remembering things like tweezers or laundry room for whatever reason. I guess I'm middle aged for a 75 year death date.

I was raised in Nebraska and Newport News, Va.

A friend was in the Dakotas and near Devils Tower in Wyoming about 3 weeks ago for the first time and he said no sane person would ever live there.

45 degrees yesterday. Last week it was 80. Last fall when I moved the temperatures were in the 80s through mid October.

My inlaws live throughtout Minn Dakotas and Wy, and its weird weather, the summers can be more hot and humid then you would guess and of course the winters take brass balls.

It was freaking cold in January and February. -15 with -39 wind chill. The snow piled up for about two months. March was colder than normal also. Golf courses opened the first week of April.

I live in Billings now. It’s a lot different than Portland, but the traffic is better.

Why? I've been on vacation to Yellowstone and Mt Rushmore, the latter not too far from Devil's Tower. What's wrong with that part of the country? It is beautiful.

How so? Is it just the winter weather? I've only been to WY and SD in the summer and both were great.

The winter weather. It just has a domino effect on everything. And the fruits and vegetables do not seem as good here. And the shopping options are very limited.

I know everybody is different but I found the thinner drier air of Mt to be quite pleasant in winter. And this from an eggs and grits wahoo country boy from South Alabama.
The damper air of WV makes for some bone shaking crap.
60 below in Fargo ND is an experience like no other. But, Mt? Not bad.
Granted, seeing snow in June was unnerving at first, but it was gone in an hour if that long.

I hear people say that "its a dry heat" "a dry cold"

I really need to make it out west in a less humid environment to see the difference. I've been in the desert at 130 and it was h a f, but i agree about teh cold.

It gets to be 30 degrees here and that will cut you to the bone

Well, hot is hot and 130 degrees is HOT. But didn't experience that kinda heat in Mt.

That's why the aliens we're all assembled there. Nobody could watch them unless they were invited personally by the mother ship. Nobody else wanted to be anywhere remotelu close.
