If season ended today, mine would be:
1st Team
Jaren Jackson JR
Marvin Bagley
Keita Bates Diop
Jevon Carter
Trae Young
2Nd Team
Deandre Ayton
Jock Landale
Mikal Bridges
Landry Shamet
Jalen Brunson
Love to hear your reasoning on Brunson being left off 1st team. He's at worst 3rd in NPOY race so far.
Brunson: 18.8ppg, 58 FG%, 5.2a, 3.3r, 1s, 1.4to
Carter: 16.8ppg, 42 FG%, 6.5a, 5.4r, 3.6s, 2.8to
Carter is fantastic, but Brunson's shooting puts hit at a different level. Watching him play it looks like he is scoring at will and could go for 30 every night if he wanted to.
Trae Young shooting from the logo is pretty impressive, but Brunson's post up game/abuse of other guards is pretty dominant in its own right.
And he's doing it for the #1 team which only adds to his CV.
Is there any doubt on the NPOY at this point? Is this the earliest it's been locked up in a long time?

Just guys putting up insane individual numbers this year. Hell Devonte Graham entered tonight averaging 18 and 7 and he's no where to be found on anyone's list. Those numbers usually make you a lock for first or 2nd team at worse.
Am i missing something on Jaren Jackson? I know he is a good player but is he 1st team all american good right now? I dont know if i would have him on my 2nd teamIf season ended today, mine would be:

I show he is 2nd just a touch above Isaiah Wilkins. And 3rd in DBPM. Of course your opinion is your opinion. I dont put near as much emphasis just on BPM i guess.Jaren Jackson is far and away the best defender in college basketball and leads the nation in Box +/-. He is a first team AA right now in my eyes.

Yea uses box scores and teams performance overall. From what ive read its not as dependable when measuring defensive players. Better for grading offensive performance. If you lean so heavily on BPM then Isaiah Wilkins should be in the talks for one of the All-American teamsWhat is Box +/- and why are you putting so much stock in it? Is that just short for the boxscore? If it is that's not a very good stat to use to compare players from different teams.
In the Big Ten, I think that JJJ is a clear choice, but I think that Matt Haarms would merit being in the discussion if he played more minutes. Haarms’ DBPM of 12.1 would lead the nation if he played enough minutes to qualify.^ Gonna be a heck of a race in the ACC for Defensive POY. Sometimes coaches/writers become enamored with the block shot category - and there's a lot of good ones in the ACC with Mahmoud, Chukwu, Lammers, Elijah Thomas, Koumadje, and Doral Moore. I would think that Wilkins would be the lead candidate for defensive POY, though, anchoring UVA's defense... we shall see.
