The Venn diagram of "fans who hate Grayson Allen for being cheap" and "fans who complain that the NBA is just a bunch of pussies compared to the old days" better have ZERO overlap.

Guys were taking cheap, dirty, pussy shots ALL DAY LONG back in the day. Maybe you never watched, so you don't know. This sort of thing would have been happening in nearly every game. Bill Laimbeer and Isiah Thomas would have LAUGHED at this. And yes, IMO those were pussy ass moves too... shots on guys in vulnerable positions with the intent to send a message and even knock them out.
So if you are someone who complains that the NBA has gotten soft and weak compared to the old days, but then turn around and complain that this is a cheap play... you are a giant hypocrite.
However, if you look at that old school basketball and think "Man, there was a lot of dirty crap back then; I'm glad that the game is cleaner now and the guys follow the rules better," then feel free to get annoyed at Allen doing this crap.

I didn't say that Grayson is a pussy... I don't know the guy... but I think cheap shots are pussy, and he seems to take a bunch of them. But none of this is the point.
Here is the thing... you came in here, swinging like crazy, ready to fight, and now you are talking about goalposts. Honestly, I think you are just looking for a fight.
I'll make it simple and clear:
There are plenty of people who look back at the old days of sports... at the Broad Street Bullies and Detroit Bad Boys and all of that... and LOVE that guys were taking dirty shots at each other, loved that they were hitting each other with forearms and clubbing each other and fouling each other with absolutely brutal fouls. PLENTY of people. Lots of guys talk about that.
You want to miss those days? Fine, go ahead. I am glad they are in the past, but if that is your thing, you do you.
BUT.
Don't then turn around and try to complain about what Grayson did. Him taking those swipes at Caruso is light-years less serious and severe than any number of hundreds of things guys did to each other in the NBA in the 70s and 80s.
That's it. I know your thing is to come in hot, but I have no idea what you are so fired up about, especially since I didn't quote you, didn't reference you, and have no idea what your stance is on any of this.

Agreed. Personally, I miss the days of the chippy games, ala Starks/Miller, Knicks/Bulls. Teams seemed to have more at stake with the stare downs, step-overs and taunting. Just made it another reason to watch. Nowadays, I might watch a few of the playoff games here and there.
Yeah. I hate the NBA. No D and everyone jacking up 3’s up. I will watch a playoff game, but 0 regular season games. Just awful.
I don't mind chippy. But man... there was some straight BS back in the day. Hockey had a lot of that... guys hitting each other over the heads with sticks and crap like that. And when you see some of the fouls from back in the day in the League, where guys are just trying to take other guys heads off... eh. Was never a fan of guys who made teams just because they were willing to be dirty-physical. Someone beats you? Don't take their head off... instead, get better. Otherwise, deal with the fact that you got beat.
who are these people that are saying that they want the game to have more flagrant cheap fouls? I haven't met any of those people.
