Gotta ask fellow Purdue fans/friends---Why does Furst start over Williams?

Gotta admit, first time watching a full Purdue game. So maybe I;ve missed something. But to me its clear Trevion is better. Is Furst seen more as a 4? If so, ok. But, its not like Trev cannot produce away from the basket---He's decent off the dribble, and pratically unstoppable in the post...

Just felt Purdue was much better with Williams on the floor.

Williams and Edey playing together would clog things up too much.

Not sure I buy this....Furst is 6'10---So is Williams. I rarely saw Furst playing off the blocks?

Furst is a lot more mobile and can guard better than Tre can.

Now this I can see....Just offensively, I felt PU was better with Trevion on the floor. I cannot recall the line-up, but I know it included Furst, and I mentioned how that was such a bad line-up for Purdue. But that same line-up with Trevion, was much better. JMO.

Furst plays the 4 and Trevion the 5. Painter will not play Trevion and Edey at the same time.

As others have mentioned, Furst is much better guarding a mobile 4 or one who can shoot from deep. Not great but definitely better.

He also has more range offensively and is good in transition.

1. Furst has played incredibly well and complements the other guys (he was 5-5, 1-1 (3pt), 1-1 FT) and hit a dagger in the last minute against Nova.
2. Think defense for a minute...how do Edey and Williams defend on the floor together
3. Having Williams and Edey sub for each other gives each a rest and 10 fouls at center, as well as no rest for the opposing 5 position.
4. Their games are different; Furst is a legit threat from 3 pt while Williams isn't a shooter at all.
