FSU could field a dominant defense next year

Just saw a stat where CB Levonta Taylor yielded the lowest completion % of passes thrown his way in the conference last year. I think he and Samuels might be the top corner tandem in the ACC next year. Our def line is deep and talented. Biggest question mark is LB. Need depth there.

I know it's a brand new staff, but given Michigan State's recent history on defense, with our talent, I can't wait to see what Harlan Barnett does with these guys. At the very least I'm excited about a more attacking, down hill defensive style than we had under Kelly.

Tyson Campbell and Patrick Surtain Jr will be the top CB tandem in the ACC next year.

Hell, I hope you're right. As Georgia and LSU are the favorites for those two. Would love to not have to play against them.

Anyone with an even passing understanding of recruiting knows that neither of those players are remotely considering Miami. You're getting courtesy visits because you have awesome escorts, and you'll get a hat on the table because you're the home town team, but if you actually believe otherwise, you've been huffing the home board paint fumes.

...anyway. I can see more improved play in the secondary with the loss of McFadden alone. Good lord that guy was dog shit. His loss is more beneficial than the pain of losing James. Other than that, the defense will not be improved as a whole and I expect 1-2 losses will stem from their play alone. The Dline should be impressive, but LBs and secondary will be a problem.

The offense, however, should be enough to win 9-10 (if DF and the line buy into the system) in the ACC with Lamar gone .... Clemson, ND, and Miami being the toss ups. If the offense lags or DF gets hurt/goes full rehtard then add another L to NCST. Two of those teams barely beat arguably the worst FSU team in 35 years. However, they are on the road. Now Miami and CU in 2-3 years --- that concerns me a bit.

Hopefully sweet baby Jameis had an illegitimate child who is about 7 now and we can win our next natty in 2031 coached by Ethan Fisher who will guide us to glory in a 128 team playoff.

Is Akers moving to the other side of the ball? Will he be the first player inducted into the HOF as an offensive and defensive player?

Nah. He was needed for the overly complicated pro designs Jimbo ran. With SWD implementing an offense designed to get uber talented freshman on the field right away, a once in a generation talent like Winston isn't required to be super successful.

He'd probably put up ACC record breaking numbers in WT's offense.

EJ is still on an NFL roster, by the way. Good for him.

Getting off the field half the time during 3rd and Kelly would improve stats dramatically.

I will admit, I do think EJ was far better than the opportunities FSUs offense and their line gave him.

Kirby came down to Miami on Thursday night with one mission, to get TC to shut it down and cancel his visits. He failed. Now Richt and his lifelong mentor Rumph will close the deal. Kirby is out of ammunition. Richt still has his sniper rifle (in home visit) and bazooka (official visit). Also, both his parents want him to stay home. UGA’s only shot is if TC decides he doesn’t want to play with PS2.
