Frank Martin gone?

Meh. Martin has been there 9 seasons. He's made the NCAAT once and has a losing conference record over those 9 seasons. Other than one crazy run in the tournament, he really hasn't been all that great. If I had a good exit plan, I would be ok letting him go.

Other than that final 4 run, he has been unable to take USC to the March Madness in every other year. The problem is, can USC find a coach better than Frank Martin? This is South Carolina, they've been terrible before Frank Martin and they will likely to stay irrelevant after hes gone anyway.

If that’s true, AU better bring him in as a defensive specialist

Yep, if Duke didn't go cold in the second half, Martin loses in the second round and is probably fired a few years ago. That game was also in South Carolina. The NCAA tournament is a crap shoot sometimes. Teams go further than they have any business going and that leads to people thinking they were much better than they were. In 9 years he has been below average.

Not according for Gamecocks standards, hes been far above average for South Carolina. I mean, this is USC gamecocks, not UNC Tarheels. Missing out NCAAT is the norm and nothing new, a final 4 run on the other hand is something that never happened in their history until Frank Martin came, and likely will never happen again in our lifetime.

That FF team was good though, pj dozier and esp Thornwell were studs.

The FF run Didn’t seem the benefit them at all though in the long run.
