They're getting a little too arrogant these days. Expecting to handle the #1 team in the nation simply because it's at Rupp.

lol nice

Flux, I gotta be honest. As one of your biggest fans this ranking feels like being stabbed in the back by a loved one. DePaul is 5-0 with a road win at Iowa. Most of their games haven't even been close.

How are they not in your poll? How do you have Ball State on there but not DePaul? Same question but replace Ball St with Kentucky who hasn't won a road game all year?

Not having DePaul in your ranking seems to fly in the face of everything you stand for and have ever stood for. Please edit your rankings to correct this obvious oversight. No apology necessary.

The only thing better than @fluoxetine early season rankings is someone arguing about them. :D

I do think there's a method to @fluoxetine s madness. He's usually really spot on towards the end of the season.

I agree on all counts, just happy to finally be able to be the guy arguing with Flux instead of the entertained spectator.

I thought I understood the method to Flux's madness which is why I was really surprised to see a 5-0 DePaul team with a really good road win not listed. Seemed to contradict Flux's ideology.

San Diego State ranked too low. Washington ranked too high.

Kentucky unranked sounds about right.

IMO.

It is a computer rating.

Obviously could be improved in the early season by adding some preseason numbers but I generally find it entertaining to see the numbers jump around based just on this season's games. The variance goes down heavily after the first few weeks.

Is this an algorithm you came up with yourself? I do remember the rankings being very reasonable by the end of the season.

I see you have Bowling Green at #23. I think they're actually a very appealing mid-major. They have already beaten Western Kentucky (Con-USA preseason favorite) and Cincinnati. If they go rest of the OOC season unscathed, I think they'll be set-up nicely for an at-large bid.

Why does this thread have this many responses. This isn’t even a good troll. Just straight garbage

And this is why it's so hard for mid-majors to get at-large bids. They can't really afford more than one sub-100 loss. Penn defeated Alabama and Providence on the road - yet lost to Lafayete and Rice (both road games, as well). Odds are if you play 20-25 games against sub-100 level teams, you're going to drop a few. Power teams would do the same if their schedules were similar. I remember a few years ago an SEC team had 2 or 3 losses against sub-200 teams, but because they had a winning record in conference and several top 50 wins, they still made it to the tournament.

I'm a big fan of seeing mid-majors get at-large bids in the tournament - much like Belmont in 2019. Tired of seeing the power conferences get 33-34 of the 36 at-large bids.

Agree 100%. For the last few spots I’d rather see a winning mid major that just so happened to lose in their conference tournament than a middling power team that just sort of backed into it.

you are right which means that when I tell you that you are garbage it comes from a verified expert source on what garbage looks like.
Just because all you know is garbage, doesn’t mean you are educated on the subject.
