Florida likes to take away other teams' quality wins...

Remember when people thought they had a great class and Blackshear was going to put them in the Final 4? LMFAO. I do want them to keep White Mike for many more years.
I do remember. That was a few months ago

Florida is not a good team, they just have zero chemistry.

Florida has been way too inconsistent again this season - in some games they have looked terrific & in too many other games they have looked lost or indifferent. It could be a combination of player motivation and/or the inability of the coach to get his team to perform each and every game.

Mike White seems like he is in over his head in many of these games and doesn't always make the proper adjustments during a game. Former UF AD, Jeremy Foley, thought he could hire the next young up & comer coach again but this looks like a barely above average hire. Fan apathy may be setting in.

Remember when people thought White was a great coach

There have been many young coaches who have flamed out at their schools. White is probably better than the average.

In his five seasons at UF, White did get Florida to three straight NCAA trips and will probably get the Gators to his 4th straight NCAA trip baring a collapse down the stretch: NIT('16), one Elite8 ('17) and two RD32 ('18, '19). White also guided Florida to four straight 20+ win seasons and will probably get them to a 5th straight 20+-win season at Florida. In some places (i.e, FSU/Auburn), those would be school records that would be worth bragging about.

Billy Donovan had a school record 16 straight 20+ winning seasons at Florida mixed in with three-four 30+ winning seasons. So, it's not an easy thing to follow a legend.

It remains to be seen how patient Florida will be with Mike White as he continues to learn on the job.

Mike White prefers playing a 4-wing offense.
To the detriment of the team, White often neglects emphasizing the post offense.
However, Blackshear is still averaging about 14 ppg & 8 rebg.

As for the SEC, there are seven teams still in play for NCAA bids according to NCAA-net:
Auburn(15), Kentucky(21), LSU(27), Arkansas(38), Miss St(41), Alabama(42) & Florida(47).

Florida did not do any favors to themselves in losing to Ole Miss and Miss St recently.

The rpi seems to match the NCAA net.

If you are not inside the top 45 or so, it makes getting an at-large bid much more difficult.
Only three ACC teams are inside the top 45: Duke(6), Louisville(7), FSU (14).

After that, Virginia(51), Notre Dame(56).

The RPI has officially been replaced by the NET for a couple years, and there are also several other rankings (KenPom, BPI, etc) that are printed on the team sheets that are used by the committee members.

Now, the NET still isn’t a great ranking in and of itself. But unlike the RPI, it factors in efficiency and margin of victory. And it isn’t 75% based on who you played and who your opponents played.

If he’s learning on the job, still, he’s learning assbackwards.

For UF this season, it's been one or two steps back then 2-3 steps forward. As a fan, it drives you nuts with your team/coach.

Season is not over yet. Still 8 conference games left, SEC tourney and then NCAAs!

The Gators (2 games back) are currently in 4th place in the SEC but could have easily been in 2nd place or even tied for first place in the SEC if not for losing 1-2 close games.

After the pre-season rankings (#6), Florida has certainly not played like a front-runner so it was probably an over-rating by the pundits.

It’s true that the season isn’t over and UF is still in the running for a tourney bid.

But I can’t agree with over-rating, at least based on talent. UF has top 10 talent on paper. 4 and 5 stars galore, plus an experienced stud like Blackshear. Most coaches in the country would trade rosters with Mike White on the spot. He’s just not putting them in position to succeed.

Probably the same with Kentucky.

Combination of talent coming in was overrated. Coaching is lacking.

Besides the Elite 8 team, White’s teams are identical. No matter the talent. This team could win at Kentucky and then lose the rest. I’ve never seen a team unable to build and sustain momentum like his teams.
