First upset of the season

marvel-is-it-though.gif

Washington lost to Northern Illinois.

Colorado needed a late 3 in regulation and OT to beat Montana St or the Pac-12 would've had 3 bad losses today.

Pitt got smashed by Citadel

Nebraska lost to Western Illinois (directional Illinois schools putting in work).

Southern lost to Louisville

People thought I was messing around when I talk about Jarreau

He just different. You don’t see that too much anymore.
Someone luckily got into his head early over there in New Orleans.

Eventually they will be alright
Defense isn’t that same but I think they have more scoring

Plus they have Mark out of Dickinson. I know that program pretty well so I think he could be someone to watch in terms of being a difference maker on both sides of the floor

I think people think you’re just messing in general tbh

Navy hasn't been good in like 20 years. Ole Don DeVoe. Good guy. One of the few head coaches I've actually had a conversation with.

Hah. So my brother, who graduated from the USNA (and MBA from UVA), told me that Navy had two starters out lol. Holy crap.

Washington and Cal took bad losses so now nobody in the PAC 12 will get higher than a 6 seed.

UVA will somehow find a way to win the ACC... and that will make our conference look bad. Because what P6 conference champ loses to Navy?

But, at least we'll still put more teams in the Sweet 16 than the Big Ten.
Lol, jokes aside, last year’s B1G flop was truly unbelievable … doubt it happens that badly again.

GU checking in. Chet looks for real but I’m less sold on this team than I was before the season. Really poor 3 point shooting through the first game and two exhibitions.

Pitt got dominated by the Citadel. 15 point loss at home. Methinks Jeff Capel is going to be fired within the next few months.

With the exodus in the off-season, the late injury luck and everything, you have to wonder how much of it is directly his fault. But yeah, not looking good. Pitt should be a formidable presence in this conference in the basketball court, definitely need them to be a good win on the ledger for everyone or at worst, not a bad loss

So did y'all rush the court after beating Houston Baptist?

ASU falls to UC Riverside and the Pac-12 continues to pile up mid-major losses.

I blame him for losing control of the locker room. There were fights going on two seasons ago between Xavier Johnson, Trey McGowens, and Au'Diese Toney. The tension didn't just start one random day. It's inexcusable to lose three high-quality players like that to the transfer portal. I gotta think Justin Champagnie would have returned if the cupboard wasn't empty. Pitt would be an NCAA tournament team, without question, with those four aforementioned players.

But yes, this season is going to be rough. It very well might mirror the 2018 season. I suppose you could also blame the previous AD for hiring Kevin Stallings. Most every pundit felt like that was a woefully uninspiring hire. Think Stallings really set the program back quite a bit. Hard to dig out of that hole. BC is still trying to recover from letting go of Al Skinner more than 10 years ago.

Maybe they should have let Dixon be a lifer. The guy was producing 1 seeds, the down years felt like the 8 seed range, which is not that different than other upper echelon programs. Winning consistently. He hadn't broken through to the F4, that was the maybe stain distinguishing Pitt from the top tier programs. Maybe they were in a decline, I can't remember his exit details. I seem to recall fans just being tired of not breaking through. They had a "physical brand" now they have no brand.

Biggest mistake they made was thinking they are more relevant than they actually are. They thought the grass would be greener and it's been absolutely shit brown. Trust me, I get the frustration of not breaking through. However, their fans got exactly what they deserved for running out a guy who had them nationally relevant. Stallings was a dumpster fire and Capel hasn't been much better.

Coaches that people think "can't coach" win titles. I've heard it said about Lute Olson, Boeheim, Calipari... there are probably others. In the 70s Louisville fans buzzed a little on Crum they had multi F4 but no title until 80.

UVA haters said Bennett wouldn't get a title the way they played, oops.

If ya got a good thing going stick with it unless something happens outside the lines that's gotta be addressed.

I have to admit I enjoy playing Pitt and not seeing the ‘Chuck the ball at the rim and go get it’ offense.
