13+ seeds beating your rival in Round One do not count. In fact, try to leave your rival out of it entirely.

Illinois overcoming like a 15 point deficit to Arizona with 3 minutes left in 2005 is one of my favorite sports memories. I think the game was in Chicago and the crowd had to have been 90% Illinois fans. It got to that point of crowd silence where their frustration met that low point in the game when you realize that you're gonna lose. At that point maybe 1 out of 20 fans are still reacting to the game but you can hear their despair. It went from that low point to probably the loudest decibel reading that place had ever been in just a few minutes. And most of the comeback was from made 3's which ignites a crowd that much more. It really helps that they kept showing Bill Murray on the first row and he wasn't being deliberately funny but he was still kind of funny. Throw in that West Virginia-Louisville game the same day and it might be my favorite day of basketball that didn't involve Kansas.

You named mine. That Illinois/Arizona game was nuts. I've rewatched it so many times, and every time I still can't understand how Arizona loses. It isn't like Illinois just breaks off a clean 15-0 run to bring the game back. Arizona hits some FTs. Arizona takes advantage of pressure and makes a couple of lay ups. Illinois just erupts to close out regulation.

Any game that breaks out in to a shoot out becomes great fun. Butler/Florida in the Elite 8 from 2011 was awesome. Mack vs. Boynton and Walker. First to miss loses.

Valpo Bryce Drew game comes to mind.

Also thought the butler duke final game was great. Really wish that half court shot had dropped. Would have been the GOAT tourney run.

I know we're not supposed to name our own teams, but that's the best game I've ever witnessed, and it really has nothing to do with the 2 teams.

Re: Favorite Tournament game that didn't involve Iowa State

In person...LSU beating Duke in the Sweet 16 in Atlanta in 2006. Man, what a game! All the whiny Duke kids in the stands crying after the game was precious.

On TV...Kansas beating Memphis for the 2008 National Championship. No friend of the Jayhawks, but I needed KU to beat Memphis to win my pool! Thought I was a goner until that last second 3 pointer!

Favorite ISU NCAA Game in person was the 2000 Sweet 16 win over UCLA @ Auburn Hills with my wife. What a GREAT night of Cyclone Basketball!

    :)

This game was unreal. It was so good, I remember exactly where I was: a Ruby Tuesdays. The game was a blowout so we hurried up there for some dinner before the late game. Then we sat in amazement as Illinois came back.

The 2010 Kansas State vs. Xavier 2OT game Sweet 16 game in Salt Lake City where KSU ended up winning 101-96. That was one of the best basket for basket games in that year's tourney. Tu Holloway, Jordan Crawford, Jacob Pullen and Denis Clemente made the game as entertaining as one could have possibly ask for. Maybe it had a lot to do with Gus Johnson calling the game which enhanced its entertainment value but either way was a hell of a lot of fun to watch.

Steph Curry's scoring rampage in 2008 ranks up there too as one of the best one man wrecking crew players I've ever watched in the tourney.

I remember a few epic West Virginia games when they had Pitsnoggle. Maybe against Wake Forest? Or Xavier?

I really enjoyed Villanova's title game win over Georgetown.

What made it really interesting was reading a few years later that their starting PG was on coke during the game. I think I read that anyway.

Kansas/Northern Iowa in 2010 is the first that came to mind. Ali Farokkmanesh is a boss.

Other games that come to mind are Illinois/Arizona in 2005, Butler/Pittsburgh in 2011, and any of Davidson's NCAAT games in 2008.

I think GE Nole was thinking of the UofL/WVU tourney game in 2005 for the FF I think?- that game was INSANE

I went in wanting WVU to win, but by the end didn't care - just didn't want the game to end.
