Both games last season were instant classics. I see this game going two ways:

    1. A Duke blowout
    2. Another instant classic

The Dome is going to be packed. I say Duke by 5.

    Anyone going to the game?

Jeez. I'm not predicting a win, we're not good, but we haven't been blown out by anybody. Duke is a very good team this year, but I just don't know about us losing by 20.

I wish both teams could just call a truce and say no fouls. We're 15 deep combined.

This would be the game to zone for Duke.

Grayson Allen would really love to have his arm back. Other than that, Michael Gbinije is playing out of his damn mind as Syracuse is firing on all cylinders. Still a lot of game left to be played.

Okafor fouled out twice in the last minute. Those 2 swallowing of the whistles by refs are game changers in this one.

Syracuse on the other hand with a textbook example of the underdog blowing the spread

Yeah, both teams got the worst end of some calls. Did you see the first half?

For those who say Okafor can't play D, look at the game Christmas had today.

    Christmas is 6'9

Okafor isn't going to be matched up with too many 6'9 centers in the NBA

Surprise surprise... Yet another game where we can at least say as a consolation that the absolutely atrocious officiating victimized the teams pretty evenly.

    It's really getting old.

I'll drop some quick thoughts and then go have some freaky birthday sex with my girlfriend [IMG] .

    - Rak did a great job burning Plumlee for some open looks and did a decent job getting looks against Okafor. He just didn't finish the bunnies like we needed him to. I'm actually pretty disappointed in his performance tonight.

    - I'm more disappointed in Cooney. Airballing that three that would have brought the game within one possession and set the Dome on fire is, to quote Charles Barkley, Terrrrrible.

    - Gbinije and Roberson deserve big hugs and open mouth kisses. They were phenomenal. I wish G shot the ball more in the second half but Duke was clearly paying more attention to him.

    - Duke's 3pt shooting and FT shooting are what sealed our fate. They hit the shots they needed to, plain and simple.

    - If you told me Okafor had 23 points, I would have smacked you. In the Dome, it did not seem like he was having a great game.

All-in-all, this was a good game. Syracuse is missing a lot of pieces this season so it was nice to see a couple players step up and make Duke sweat for a bit. I look forward to the Cameron match-up; hopefully, Cooney and Rak will show up for it.

Yea man I was cackling after they called that foul on Okafor where is arms were just blatantly straight up in slow-mo....then they let him by with a no call when he destroyed a Cuse player going up for a shot

Bilas had a WTF moment on that no-call

It was pretty bad day for officiating

Booky, to be fair to Cooney, Duke did not leave him, at all, the last 30 minutes of the game. Even the air ball may have been deflected. (Watching on tv it was definitely closely contested) Any player would struggle with that. I thought Syracuse played well. Some easy misses for sure though.

Overall a pretty solid game from Syracuse. Easy to be excited for next year when we can see how good both Gbinije and Roberson can be. I think Roberson still needs to be a bit more aggressive since he missed some easy shots that he should have just dunked, but he hustles a lot and is a very good rebounder from the PF spot even though he's not all that bulky. Gbinije looks like he could be the most complete player on the team next year. Can hit outside shots, drive inside, pass and break the press, etc.

The frustrating thing is that Kaleb Joseph has not played all that effectively this year. He had a couple of nice jump shots, but his erratic play results in way too many bad turnovers. Defensively he's out of position a lot as well. Cooney also made some really bad decisions on when to shoot 3's. For a junior he should know better.

I still think Syracuse will upset someone this year. They've come close a lot of times already and just haven't been able to finish. Louisville looks vulnerable and their lack of offensive efficiency is close to ours so I think Syracuse can take a win from them if both teams play an average game(average as in similar to how they have played this year).
