Congrats Loyola Ramblers - MVC Champs!

They could be a dangerous team in March depending on the draw they get. Nasty defense
Most likely a 7/10 or even an 8/9 seed. I could see the committee throw them in a lower seed just because "lowly MVC no good", but that just means problems for whatever higher seed draws them.

The MVC should also have Drake get in as an at large. They're an NCAA tournament caliber team even in spite of the injuries to two of their best players that kind of derailed things for them down the stretch after their unbeaten start to the season. From what Drake has said, they will get one of their injured guys back in time for the tournament, if they make it.

I see Loyola between a 7-9 seed. Tough team to seed because that's what their resume demands but I think they are better than their resume suggests. Drake should also get in but they are likely in a play in game.

One of the best mid-majors in the country. They should be seeded in the 7-9 range, IMO. So, if they win their first round game, they very well could face one of the top 4 teams in the country in the Round of 32. Honestly, if you want to win a couple games in the tournament, you'd almost rather be a 10 or 11 seed than an 8 seed. 1 seeds win in the 2nd Round 86.3% of the time (120-19); 2 seeds, on the other hand, only win 67.4% of the time (89-43) in the 2nd Round. Loyola had a very successful run in 2018 as an 11 seed.

Here are the 2nd Round results for teams in the 8-11 range.

I agree 100%. I've seen Oregon make the S16 twice as a 12 seed. In 2013 I was pissed that Oregon wasn't a higher seed but then I realized the lower seed probably helped them.

Yup. 8/9 seed is brutal. You get awarded with facing an overwhelming juggernaut in the 2nd Round. I forgot about your run in 2013. It definitely improves your odds. Gonzaga went to the S16 three years in a row as either a 10 or 12 seed (99 to 01). They almost certainly don't make that three consecutive years if they're thrown in the 8/9 matchup.

Yeah, unfortunately, because of the injuries to key players and the lack of respect for the MVC, the committee will most likely put Drake in the First 4, though I think they're good enough to be a locked-in 12 seed, rather than a play-in team.

I just wish conference expansion would chill a little bit. Imagine the MVC with Wichita State and Creighton.

woo hoo! Gonna dust off my 2018 F4 shirt for next week!

Krutwig is must watch TV. He's like a mini fat Jokic.
