As long as this team doesn't show up next year you should be OK
But tell me again how weak the SEC competition is! LOL
He has a very good point. At the very least, there is a Big difference between PITT and UGA in the conference title games.
Who will beat them?
Really ? OK. Bama led at half time by an average of 21 points in all their SEC regular season games last year. Clemson has more victories over Alabama in the past 3 years than the entire SEC. Please right it down this time.
Clemson 28 - Texas A&M 26
Tell me again about that weak SEC!
I’m not sure why the recent comments are in doubt. There is a fairly large talent and depth gap between Clemson and most of the teams we will face from the ACC this year during the regular season. That should be clear to everyone. That doesn’t mean there won’t be a David and Goliath moment this year if the team takes a game off, or we suffer a key injury or two. Our third string QB was drafted and our second string QB isn’t at quite the same level as TL. We are thin at experience depth behind center.
Clemson 44 Bama 16 LOL
Again you moron, try to follow the conversation. What does that have to do with Clemson winning the ACC or the competition in the SEC being tougher than the ACC? You truly are clueless!
I guess that’s if you have to play a conference Title game. I seem to recall Alabama taking a 6 week vacation during this period in 2017.
You are correct on this. Just curious, how did a discussion about last year and this upcoming year ended up in 2017? Why don’t we just jump back to 2006 through 2012 when the SEC won 7 straight NCs? Makes as much sense.
The thread was about Clemson not winning or winning the ACC in 2019. You decided to bring in 2018, so it seems reasonable that we also bring in 2017. As far as 10 years ago, those players are now out of football for the most part, and those were pre-playoff era games.
Are you looney? Please quote my post where I brought this discussion to 2018. I believe you are thinking about yourself or your posting partner, sledgehammer.
What does that say when we beat the cowbell of the SEC by 28?
Means the SEC was over rated. That is why their fanboys spend all day on here trying to defend the SEC.
I can quote more if you want. What a moron.
That was in response to what? You idiot
Doesn’t say shit about the weakness of the ACC!
Doesn’t stop ACC from being the weakest of the P5 conferences.
What does it say when you barely beat a team that finished 4thin the SEC West by 2?
It says Trevor wasnt yet the starter. It was his second game in a college uniform. Kudos to Aggie for playing tough, but even 4 weeks later, that game goes differently in all probability.
Maybe. Did he make a lot of tackles when he was in the game?
No need, the pylons wear orange.
Have no f**king idea what that means!
Then you probably shouldn’t be discussing the Clemson-TXAM game. If you don’t get that reference, then you probably don’t know Mond threw at least 3 bad passes that were extremely lucky to not have been picked off, that instead lead to points.
I’ve never seen a conference get so much pride in losses. Both TXAM and UofSCjr are happy about their losses to Clemson last year.
This is what the conversation was in response to. If you can’t recall making these posts, you have s lot more to worry about than Clemson usurping Alabama as the king of college football.
I never seen as many stupid Clemson fans. In this entire thread, everyone is praising how much better Clemson is than anyone in their conference, a compliment, yet they get their feelings hurt because they play in the weakest of the P5 conferences. That’s not a knock on Clemson. It doesn’t matter how weak your competition is getting to the CFP. It matters what you do when you get there and Clemson performed better than anyone else and deserved the title. Save your ass hurt for the time we start criticizing Clemson.
And what was the second quote responding to? You are not very good at this.
Again, you Clemson boys brought up last year not me. Try and keep up!
You realize that with more productive Clemson possessions, Aggie would have had fewer at bats and thus been less effective on O right? All I'm saying is that you have to account for it being at the start of the season for Trevor. Timing, system familiarity, team chemistry with his WRs all had far more to do with the closeness of that game than the opponent, imo. And I dont mean to take anything from A&M by saying that. They played really well.
But once that initial adjustment period was over, Bama was the only team last year I think who would threaten Clemson on a "normal" weekend. Just as I think you roll through the SEC threatened on an average day by only a Clemson. For all the talent a team like LSU has, for example, without differential QB play, noone in conference was gonna beat you guys. Same in the ACC for Clemson. While Syracuse played really well, that game was close because not only was Trevor on his first start, he got knocked out before getting on a roll. How many teams come back from 10 down with their 3rd string QB? Similarly, your game with UGA, imo was partly a great performance by them, but also due to a less than 100% Tua. Like our Syracuse game, you bring in your backup, and Jalen was obviously not the typical backup, and still pull out the win. Anyone think UGA could have replaced Fromm and come back to beat you guys? Nope.
Bottom line, there are 2 teams at the moment who are much better than most everyone else. Conferences be damned.
My comment to you was simply that someone who didn’t watch a game probably shouldn’t comment on it like he has intense knowledge on the ins/outs of that game.
I don’t participate in conference dick measuring competition.
I don’t have to watch a game to know that Clemson won by 2. It’s a published fact. If you will check, that’s all I said.
Giving the Aggie fans a hard time for all the controversy regarding their fumble/touchback at the end of the game.... well, one Aggie in particular.
Does it say the same thing as embarrassing the SEC king in front of the entire college football world by 4 touchdowns ?
I think you can make a good argument for the SEC to be more of a basketball conference last year. The success of Auburn, Kentucky and Tennessee on the hardwood combined with the lack of quality football teams in the SEC would suggest such. Still got beat by the ACC but nothing new there.
You do know the ACC had a losing record to the SEC, correct? You are really are a loon!
No one is arguing that. We are just saying the SEC is right there with the ACC. Only one decent team in the entire conference and look what happened to them when they played a quality team. It wasn't pretty.
SEC did not have a losing record vs any power 5 conference last year. No where near as bad as the ACC. Might try using facts instead of your feelings.
ACC had a losing record to the Big 10, the SEC and the PAC 12.
The rankings prove you wrong.
I think we all know who won. Congrats
