Said it in another thread, may as well ask directly......

How is that "South Carolina/ 5 wins in a row" thing looking to you guys these days ? RollLaugh

Outside of you guys, nobody hates South Carolina more than I do (fake hate, but still o_O ).... I was HERE for all that garbage South Carolina fans talked to you guys. I was quite disgusted, if I may say so. Laughing

    How're things these days? :)

It turns out that 5 in a row was just to give them aspirations so when we started the run we've had it would hurt them that much more.

Congrats on the Nattys, BUT........ they did win 5 in a row..........

Don't know if you live in SC or not, but have they totally WILTED in the State or what? NU doesn't have these problems, but if I were a South Carolina fan, I'd STILL be talking about Clowney and 5 in a row.

Have you all BROKEN them ? Laughing

South Carolina still has a HELLUVA Baseball team and women's basketball team. Neither are nothing to sneeze at.

The only fanbase that shows up to Omaha in HORDE numbers, OUTSIDE of LSU, is South Carolina. LSU still has the best tailgaiting, but REALLY, who's going to beat LSU at THAT? Hell, they'd beat NEBRASKA at that if we ever made the CWS. o_O

I haven't followed College Baseball very closely, but is South Carolina BAD this year? Or do they still have a CHANCE to make the CWS?

NOW........ if you don't know anything about this and you're just dissing South Carolina baseball for the hell of it, a pox on your house. o_O

They are barely over .500 this year at 28-27. They need to win the SEC tourney as a 12 seed to make a regional

Ouch. Not traditional South Carolina Baseball.

If I may ask a question I already know the answer to, do you all feel the least bit sorry for your State brethren that have fallen on hard times ? o_O

    They will stop playing us.

Heard rumors that UofSC thinks they have been keeping us afloat and if they pull the plug they can get the upper hand.
Truthfully I don't really care. If they did that I would be happy to never play them again.
    Hurts them more than us.

I get you, 100%. But South Carolina has slayed a Dragon or two, in their days...........

How many other schools, like EVER, have even beaten Geno Auriemma and the UCONN women? We've all seen and heard the headlines. That's like beating Bear Bryant at his peak. Serious question though, and I don't know if you have the answer or not.........

Jadeveon Clowney was a South Carolina home-grown guy, DEFINITELY the best guy to come out of the State since George Rogers (though he was born in Georgia). Was there any competition, at the time, between South Carolina and Clemson for Clowney's services, or was it a done deal from the get-go?

    Often times, enough.

But I've declared MINE, I do it in my sig, my avatar, my posting, etc. etc.

You'll see me post in a defunct thread and the "views' will jump up by the DOZENS on impact. Because I'm a NEBRASKA fan, and don't give two shits about who likes it and who doesn't, even when it comes to other "Nebraska fans."

Now, dear Homeless, sir.......... is there not a single team you'd like to hitch your wagon to ? o_O

Don’t think they’ve beaten UCONN women

Clowney thought about Clemson last second, but the gamecocks typically get players from Rock Hill. Shown to be overrated in the NFL imo

There is a guy named Deandre Hopkins who is a future HOFer and William and Michael Dean Perry were pretty solid

I’ve seen a lot of gamecock fans convert to Clemson fans after their 4th straight win..I guess some “fans” couldn’t take what they were giving out during our run...that’s why I kept my mouth shut when we were on our 5th win against them. Unfortunately that damn paw is a highly recognizable logo nationwide now and thats just something Carolina fans have to deal with.I’d just like to stay at .500 this season.

It’s not mentioned enough about their 5-year streak (or 3-year 11 win seasons) but it was a perfect storm of events.

    1. Clemson fired Tommy Bowden, allowing UofSCjr to get some recruits they normally might not have gotten.

    2. The SEC East was at it’s lowest point in history. UGA, UF and UT were all having trouble.

    3. The state of S.C. had a very unusual run of great instate players (Lattimore, Clowney, Gilmore) who all went to UofSCjr.

    4. Rock Hill. It’s funny to listen to the cheating accusations now. UofSCjr was cheating their asses off, which was headed up by the “Rock Hill Bagman”. That gentleman was asked to disassociate from the program and UofSCjr was placed on probation for paying players.

All of these events occurred in a 5 year span and guess how long their Dynastic run lasted?

It's the biggest accomplishment in their program's 100+ year history, so let them have it.

Meh, the "Rock Hill pipeline" hasn't really been that strong of late. Clemson has pulled Jonathan Meeks, BT Potter, Logan Rudolph, and Derion Kendrick from RH.

I also wouldn't say RH players have been overrated in the NFL. Chris Hope was a Pro Bowler and Super Bowl Champion, Ben Watson is a current playing legend, Clowney is a 3x Pro Bowler, Stephon Gilmore is a 2x Pro Bowler, then you have other guys like Cordarelle Patterson, Jonathan Jones, etc. Guys like Devonte Holloman, Phillip Adams, and more were solid contributors for a while in the NFL also.

I don't think I can label him as overrated. He's only had 3 full seasons as a starter where he wasn't hampered by injuries, and he made the Pro Bowl in all 3.

His peers named him one of the top 35 players in the entire NFL.

You guys certainly have a tough schedule this year; so much so that I don't think I can accurately predict W-L.

However, one thing's for certain: by the end of the year, you will have one helluva tough & battle-hardened team.

You'll be well-prepared going into bowl season, and set-up well going into next year.

Assuming your team doesn't give up, and actually tries to be competetive, taking some ass-whoopings this year is actually going to force you to be a better team.

As proof of this, I credit part of our current success to the 5 beat-downs in a row you gave us.

I credit some of the other parts of our success to similar thoughts: getting our asses whooped in the Orange Bowl by WVU and getting crushed at home by FSU.

With certainty, this season will be your team's chance to build a similar character.

Guess we will agree to disagree here. My definition of a "bust" would be a guy that fizzles out of the league or is a back-up by year 3-4. Not a Pro Bowler that was just franchise tagged.
