The only thing affecting BBall home court advantage are the zebras period. Check the big 6 home vs Away records. Horrible! Drastically different for the most part with extremely limited crowd. NCAA needs to make games 4Q to limit the effect of the bonus.

I submit to you Minnesota. 13-1 at home and 0-7 on the road. SMH.

I’ve talked to a lot of players about this over the years. Not just from FSU, but all over. All the way back to Carlos Boozer and Julius Hodge, up through players this year.

There’s been two consistent answers, neither one the crowds, nor the refs.

1. Sight lines and arena differences. They cite massive adjustments to the visuals behind the baskets, the court surroundings, etc.

2. Just the every day drags of traveling. Time zones. Not sleeping in your own bed. Not in your normal day to day routine. All that crap.

The one thing they call out the fans as impacting is energy level when it gets late in a game and you’re trying to literally feed off the electric energy in a crowd. But that isn’t a home or away thing, that’s just having an energetic crowd or not.
