anyone else just hear this? I thought he made some good points but... then he was also kind of all over the place. If you read the transcript without hearing it I'm sure you'd be thoroughly confused. If they put the video on youtube i'll post it.

Saw where Vanderbilt is hurt again...I doubt he plays again this season.

He is all over the place every time he speaks. I can't stand to listen to him, because I have a headache once he finishes his 5 minute rambling that makes no absolute sense.

JFC. You typed all that and said nothing.

Brief summary? Don't know what they were even talking about
It's kind of hard to summarize because he bounced around a lot. defended the OAD, hyped education/lifetime scholarships for OAD kids, wanted to get the NBA players association involved with high school kids, something strange about Kentucky eating first, and some racial stuff about how the system is keeping black kids down and they don't do this with baseball because it's a white sport except for Dominicans...

I think he made some good points but he just gets to rambling some times and jumps from topic to topic, hard to get your point across when you don't focus on one particular subject.

You think that's a lot to type? like 3 sentences? ok. anyway i asked if anyone else heard it, see my other post that somewhat summarizes it but it's difficult when he talked for 15 minutes and said nothing.

Yea, typical Cal. Can’t ever stay on topic.

no one knows what the injury is
they did say that he would not practice today and is day-to-day
i doubt we see him in the SECT
hopefully we will see him in the NCAAT (maybe not the first game)

His interviews are always inane ramblings. I listened when he first got here but it got old fast.

Not sure if this is the whole interview or not but here you go.

Someone should tell Cal that kids can go straight to the MLB right out of high school.

He knows that, he was saying no one cares that they can go straight out of high school in baseball because it is a white sport. I don't think race has much to do with it, it's about the revenue the sports generate but he made it somewhat racial because that will benefit him on the recruiting trail. I agree with him on the education thing and the guys that went out of high school and are now working at a gas station or worse. Let the NBAPA into the high school game, let them give advice to kids on whether to go to the NBA or college, let the kids/parents take out loans, etc.

Calipari might be most credible man in America on the topic. People should listen. Guarantee he is more intune than Condoleeza Rice, Mark Emmert or Adam Silver. But bureaucrats will be bureaucrats.

Put Calipari and Carmelo Anthony at a table and they'd get more done in a week than NBA or NCAA in ten years.

Oh I got ya, I misunderstood your post. I also don’t think race has anything to do with the MLB allowing kids to go straight out of HS.
There are 6 different classes in the MILB for kids to play in till they’re ready for the MLB. The nba would never have that because it’s not a money cow for them.

they also pay most minor league baseball players less than minimum wage, if you don't get a huge signing bonus it's a terrible trade-off for college scholarships... even if they're only partial.

Not to mention, most P5 college baseball programs only get 11 scholarships to give out to the players. Some only get partial scholarships if they do go to college.
My nephews best friend growing up is a sophomore at WKU playing baseball & he only gets a 1/4 of a scholarship . That 1 scholarship is divided up between 4 kids.

Calipari absolutely crushed this entire interview. College basketball is so lucky to have him at a huge program.

I've noticed he's very ADD/scatterbrained these days.

I'd imagine it is impacting his in-game decision making.

This is true. Minor league baseball is a pretty terrible grind. Lots of guys quit because they just don’t have the mental fortitude to make. Rookie ball and Low A is especially rough.

It's a fvcking joke. Baseball owners are making more money than ever and can't pay their minor league guys even minimum wage. Unless you are a top 10ish round draft pick that gets a 6-7 figure signing bonus you are screwed.
