Wow. Didn't see this coming. I guess only logging 6 minutes the other night was the final straw for him. In all fairness, he didn't exactly earn starter minutes. Woeful shooting. He'll need another year or two before even contemplating the jump to the league.
He didn’t look impressive at all. Beard isn’t going to play you if you suck despite your ranking. Similar to Bill Self.
This was an awful fit from the start(Chicago kid in Lubbock that wanted to play uptempo free flowing basketball), I can see him transferring to Michigan

I could see that. Illinois will be involved as well, but I m not sure how hard we will pursue for various reasons. Mainly, we need bigs more than guards...but you cant have enough guards.
If yall could have him give Cal a ring and explain this "radical philosophy " wed be much obliged.
naw, he's a lock for DePaul. Chance to be close to home during these trying times.
I'm not happy about it, but he underperformed thus far for a top 35ish ranked player. I honestly haven't even seen flashes of a great player when he is in.

Apparently quit by text. And there are tweets from family and friends telling him to come home because he isn't being treated right. Hate to see it.
I don't know this guy's situation. I imagine it's similar to a lot of players. I do not know how any coach can sustain anything the way college basketball is these days, and I'm not even thinking about COVID obstacles.
A lot of fans probably would love to have this player transfer in, rightfully so I guess? Would love to see research on top tier HS recruits that transfer and how they do at destination #2, especially somehow locking in on guys with unimpressive stats.
