Ha, I've gotten a couple. I think its funny he can still send PMs even though hes banned.
What the fvck are you talking about. This is a regular conversation.
Me too. I don't mind it. He's not taking over every thread, and he enjoys discussing basketball, so I think it's fine that he's not banned from PMing.
How were my comments regarding Minnesota relevant to Iowa basketball?
Agreed. I've gotten a few, and he's much more calm. Still Iowa stats galore, but more controlled
All I said was they had one good year, and now people want to pick them to finish top 4 in the league.
They may very well finish there, but some have their doubts including me.
Maybe, but more likely not.
Plenty who doubted that NU would make the NCAAs last season; things change.
Wouldn't have been the case if NU had pulled out a win against either Butler or ND (lost on last second shots).
Only players NU lost were Lumpkin and Taphorn.
Lumpkin was the glue guy and a good defender, but limited offensively.
Taphorn was a 3 pt specialist but wouldn't have played as much as he did if Falzon hadn't gotten hurt and missed the season (averaged 8.4 pts as a frosh).
In addition to Falzon (6-8), NU also didn't have 4* F Ivanauskas (6-9) for the entire season.
So, from the very start, NU was down 2 of its taller players on the team, which was made worse when starting center, Pardon missed 8 games due to a hand injury.
Only other players taller than 6-7 were Skelly (off the bench PF) and Benson (frosh back-up center).
So while lose Lumpkin, get Falzon (presumed starting PF) and Ivanauskas back.
Pardon really started to show his stuff last season and should be a force in the paint this season; Benson should also be improved w/ a year under his belt.
The backcourt should be one of the top units in the conference w/ McIntosh and Lindsey; but depth was a problem last season as seen when Lindsey missed time due to mono (hopefully, the back-up guards start to step up w/ or incoming frosh, Gaines shows something in his 1st year).
The F spots are more than fine w/ Law and Falzon (w/ Skelly and Ivanauskas backing them up).
So, barring injury, should be a deeper, more experienced team than last season.
You do exist. Welcome back.
I won't argue that they will be deeper and more experienced.
A one point loss is still a loss. They made the tournament and deserved it, but they were not impressive doing it. They got the best draw in the tournament against Vanderbilt.
At least I got MSU first, Purdue third, and Rutgers 14th right.
I mean, Purdue finished tied for second, right?
Yeah, but they are 3rd in the Big Ten Tournament, and that was more what I was predicting. Obviously can’t call ties and all that.
To the bold
Everyones preseason predictions sucked this year Klize.
Wisconsin lost 2 guards, Maryland lose 3 rotations players, Minnesota lost 4 players.
I will say my Iowa optimism is completely unforgivable and Im ashamed of it.
I will say, this was the easiest year to predict the champion. I’d say about 90% of people picked MSU, and they were all right.
Fvcking nailed Maryland, suck it faggit
Yeah I was pretty spot on honestly.
@B-Westy did you make a prediction itt?
Ive scrolled thru this thread and nobody was right about anything other than MSU and Purdue.
Everyone had Minnesota and NW in top 4.
Highest anyone had OSU was 10th.
Highest anyone had Nebraska was 11th or so.
I've been looking for it but I don't think I did.
Search came up empty. Way to bump my predictions when you didn’t even make any. Go play in traffic
You act like these threads haven't been filled with some of my awful takes? Bump those, dumbass.
I do. Frequently. Unfortunately, no one has been able to end me yet.
You were? Show me. Don't believe it.
These are always the best threads tbh. Nothing more fun than to quote someone who was wrong and tell them how wrong they were.
Holtmann wins COY and Diop POY.
so you are the one who predicted Iowa would finish that high.
me I said 5th with a chance at 4th
but this was before William quit Baer broke his finger, FR Garza started as I expected him to come off the bench, saying his scoring would look like this 7-8 ppg and 6-7 rebounds per game. the rebounds are close and he is 3rd in scoring @ 11.9 ppg. plus he led the team in blocks.
also never expected Nunge to be 5th in scoring and 2nd in steals & blocks.
the FR did far better than I thought.
This literally has nothing to do with you or Iowa at all. I don’t care how well Iowa did or didn’t do this season. My post was talking about how it was easy to predict a champion, and then you start talking about Iowa.
actually it was you that posted that Iowa would finish 3rd, so stop back peddling.
You responded to my post about picking a champion with things about Iowa. I wasn’t back peddling.
then don't jump me for responding about you picking Iowa to finish 3rd.
