    And this from Romeo's dad:

"I haven't gotten to talk to him as much about what he thought about the cheering, but the unexpectedness and the excitement of what was going on, seeing a little joy in his face - because we were surprised by it - we've been to other schools, North Carolina and UCLA, and it wasn't anything like that.

    And this:

We're just trying to make the right move for him moving forward. With that said, we like what we've seen from Coach Miller so far and the assistants. It was convincing. With that said, that was really a plus - especially the fans, the fans put a couple of five-stars on it, you know what I mean, compared to the ones we've been to.

    And the final part:

All the other visits have been pretty good visits, but like I said, the IU visit was a little more overall exciting

If Miller gets both these kids? Oh, man.

True. But the take from Romeo's dad is that IU was the best so far. And seeminglt by a wide margin. One school left: Kansas. Better bring it Jayhawks.

Minnesota seems about 10 spots too low, and Wisconsin about 10 spots too high. Ohio State and Illinois could probably be swapped. Otherwise, I don't think there's anything too far off of the consensus around here.

I am excited by what I’ve heard/read about the two official visits ALONG with the great comments from our commitments excluding Forrester. Phinisee, Anderson and Hunter all had awesome comments. Not to mention TJD and Brooks. Really good weekend for IU.

Yep. I doubt we land all of Langford, Garland,Brooks and TJD. But I would not be surprised if we get Romeo and Jackson Davis. More so with TJD.
It's just good to have a god damn competent coach.

sounds like purdue has a legit shot at Tyger Campbell. Would love that addition. We currently have a bunch of combo guards that could handle the PG duties in Painter's system, but Campbell obviously has some dynamic PG skills that we could really use.

Also, Haarms is showing some skillz. Looks like he can be a player.

Purdue fans...I am looking forward to checking out Kendall Stephens this season. He had a good game today as Nevada beat Grand Canyon In an exhibition charity game for the California fires.

I am planning to go to quite a few games this season.

will be interested to get your comments on him when you attend games.

think he could be really good for them. think this worked out well for both sides.

We've heard far more about Grimes than Langford, but obvi Kansas would love to nab one of either. If these two schools are his final two, kid's doing great already.

Seems like a great fam, too.

Iowa is to low but its not unexpected as they lost Jok, oh well can't wait till the season begins. just like the previous 3 years after Iowa lost their leading Scorer and 1st Team All BT Player. Uthoff was actually a bigger loss than Jok.
Uthoff 18.9 ppg, led the team in RPG @ 6,3, led the team in BPG @ 2.6, a 2nd Team AA 1st Team All BT. BB goes on as all teams lose their leading scorers.

Yup, I didn't believe the preseason ranking. You can't lose that many and not miss a beat, even with a great recruiting class. That said, I'm sure it will be a dogfight on the 18th when we play. We keep shooting ourselves in the foot on offense. It will cost us one of these weeks.

OSU Lost a large group of players to the NFL and did not fall on their face like Michigan is doing with a pair of top 5 recruiting classes with the great and almighty Harblow as their coach after all he took a team to the super bowl and took Stanford to a Bowl game with less talent.

Apparently Indiana State beat Illinois in a scrimmage this weekend. Could be a rough year for Illinois.

IU had better be ready to play, as IU opens with the Sycamores. ISU has beaten IU several times in the last 15 years. And I am glad the Illini might suck.

Michigan's 2014 class was ranked 31st and 2015 class was ranked 50th. I think OSU has had top 5 classes every year except one where they finished 9th. Not a good comparison IMO

    By which sites?

2012 class had UM at #6
2013 class had UM at #3
2014 class had UM at #20
2015 class had UM at #37 (small class, only 14 recruits)
2016 class had UM at #8
2017 class had UM at #5

UM has had a Top-10 class in 4 out of the last 6 classes. OSU has had better, but no one else in the B1G is even really close.

highlights for each of Purdue's players from the intra-squad scrimmage this weekend. Carsen and Haarms are the only ones worth watching -- not that others are bad, just more of the same that you're accustomed to seeing out of those guys. Maybe Eastern as well since he's new.

Haarms looks like he can be a solid bench guy now, and has some really good upside. Like the jumpers he hits right in the face of 7'2 Haas. With the way our roster projects out after this year, I think Haarms will be a really good big for the guards we have. His ability to dive and hit the little jumper should be nice for PNR with guys like Carsen, Eastern, Hunter, and hopefully Campbell.

Carsen is just unconscious in his video. He's such a natural scorer.

The 2012 class is irrelevant to this year and most of the 2013 is no longer with the program or just not very good. They’re playing pretty close to what their recruiting rankings were for their upperclassmen. There’s no crime in that, it’s just a poor comparison to OSU

We didn't have either of our PGs, and we missed a lot of open shots. Killed them on the glass. There were positives, but this type of performance doesn't surprise me given the youth and lack of experience with a more complicated offense than we've run in sometime.

Heard the talent discrepancy was apparent. We play Vanderbilt this weekend. Interested to see what that looks like.

Yeah, the juniors and seniors now are those two lower ranked classes. Harbaugh’s first full class was 2016 and are true sophomores and redshirt freshmen. Way too early to worry IMO.

    2013 #5
    2014 31st
    2015 50th 14 commits
    2016 4th 1 5* and 16 4*'s
    2017 4th 3 5*'s and 16 4*'s
not exactly struggling in the recruiting department most schools would gladly trade recruiting classes
#7 QB McCaffrey in the 2017 class and #6 QB in the 2016 class in Peters.
in the 2017 class they got 5* WR People-Jones. and these for 4* WR's
    Nico Collins
    Oliver Martin
    Tarick Black
    Brad Hawkins
    4* RB Samuel

there is to many 4 and 5* players to cry about the youth.
