I'm shocked they lost Livingston and Antonio Reeves too.
UK will be all freshmen next year, albeit the most highly talented group of freshmen for Cal since maybe 2017.

All 3 are gonna go undrafted, imo. UK will be one of the physically weakest power conference teams next year too, especially inside. Gonna get flicked around like a bunch of gnats.

Kentucky’s probably been waiting to snatch up players who withdraw. Heard they’re in contact with Grant Nelson and Kaluma.
Doubt they get either. David Jones seems like their best chance in the portal right now and he can't shoot worth a shit.
IF Reeves returns to UK their Lineup is Ugonna, Bradshaw, Edwards, Reeves, Wagner. What transfer worth a sh** is coming to sit behind these guys? their best bet is to get some ok guys from mid majors who just want to say they played at UK but have 0 nba dreams.

I can't see Reeves staying though. Apparently he is taking summer classes so he can graduate.... Only reason I can think of for that is so he can be a graduate transfer.
He knows Cal plays freshmen over everyone. He is probably thinking " Do I want to be the team babysitter and only upperclassmen? Will I lose minutes to 140 lbs Bob dillyham? Is there a better fit and more NIL out there?
@ThePhog08 hit the nail on the head. Reeves is concerned about his role and NIL. AT UK probably more role than NIL. He received a fairly good NIL last season. Coaching staff and Reeves are in talks this week to see if it can be resolved.
Oscar wanted 8 million lol I think he made 4 mil last year, more than he's going to make in the NBA, but that's his dream and he should give it a shot. Klutch want's to make an example out of Livingston. They want to show how much influence they have in getting players in the NBA.
You can't have 5 5 stars and get the best out of the portal or keep returning guys with 1 year of eligibility remaining.

I was told NIL numbers aren’t really a problem, but they’re not giving players any assurances so they’re looking at other options that will. Not sure if true or not.
So much for my “UK mega=class” thread. Mildly excited about the freshmen, but it’s been shown it takes more than them. Losing those 2 doesn’t seem like a huge loss anywhere else, but now we’re down to 7 scholarship players, including 2 sophomores that haven’t accomplished anything meaningful on the court. Not enthusiastic about yet another down year.
How many top 10 freshmen the last 4-5 years had mediocre seasons? What is 2-3 UK freshmen don't live up to the hype?The only 2 I would be shocked if they weren't great are Bradshaw and Edwards. Wouldn't shock me if they other 3 were mid.
I think this is fair. I think it would take each of them pretty much making the transition (from high school dominance to college ball. Not the kind where they become women) seamlessly and play exceeding the hype. I’m good with it if we make a decent run. Wagner looks to be the real deal with the rest maybe needing more development. They’re the most advanced class we’ve had in a since ‘15 IMO. I’ll be happy just being a tough matchup again. We’ll see.
