Man, if Alex Robinson doesn't come out and make TCU fans ask JayFishWho??, what a terrible letdown.
I've seen this kid's name all over the preseason lists with no "Jaylen Fisher" to be seen.

And in the case that he is as good or better, then TCU won't just be a Big 12 problem.

Shaka made his bones with recruits like Huggs gets. He has a problem getting AAU taught 4 and 5 star players to buy into his gritty scheme.

Until he can do that, Texas gonna struggle..

Roster turnover has been a major issue.
I think he has his leaders on the team this year he wants.
They wanted to play fast and uptempo but they didn't have the bigs to do so.
Osetkowski lost some weight.
Royce Hamm has improved and Jericho Sims has a better understanding of College Basketball.
Not to mention the two freshman bigs.

Supposedly the freshman PG from St Louis Courtney Ramey is that pit bull style guard that Shaka needs.
Coleman plays like a bitch sometimes.
Roach is a great two way guard and he is a senior.
The question is Andrew Jones. If he plays then they have 4 great guards

Roach a dog for sure but his BB IQ is questionable at best..
Same goes for Sims.

Kowski is up and down in the same game and can be lazy, not good for a Smart team.....plus does that guy even defense?
Courtney Ramey is EXACTLY what Smart needed and will thrive under Shaka.
Coleman is soft.

Lots of questions. Shaka gets those gritty Newport News type of in your face players and he will have Texas dangerous. Not quite there...

The guards will be tested early.
The play Arkansas in the second game of the year.
Mike Anderson and the Piggies always play an aggressive style of basketball.
Plus they will be hyped up to play against Texas

I feel ya. Wvu has its first game against Buffalo and they have everyone back from a league championship team plus quality transfers. It’s a game that we can lose if we don’t have our shit together right out of the gate.

Big XII
#4 D. Lawson - KU
#21 Q. Grimes - KU
#23 D. Wade - KSU
#26 L. Wigginton - ISU
#44 S. Konate - WVU
#54 U. Azubuike - KU

#74 X. Snead- KSU
#76 J. Fisher - TCU
#91 E. Ahmad - WVU
#94 L. Vick - KU

Thoughts?

Seems like a fairly reasonable list. I think I'd have Konate higher, though. I'd be surprised if he doesn't win National Defensive Player of the Year. I might also include one of the Texas guards in the latter part of the top 100 (Coleman or Roach).

Initial thoughts are Dok too low, Ahmad too high and happy for wigginton to get that respect. Could see sags higher, expect huge strides offensively just like last off-season

Roach is an oversight. Should be around 65 (marginal draft pick territory). Texas people feel Sims will play his way onto that list, even as high as top 32. I'm very skeptical.

Dok at 54 is a joke. Wade is a reach at 23. I'd probably have Konate at 23, Dok right below Wigginton (but not 44) and Wade at 54. Not that I think Wade is a bad player, but I think him and Brown are equally important to KSU and if you have Brown at 59 than Wade should be closer to him in the rankings.

I love Jarrett Culver. Excited to see if he has a higher gear.

KenPom Preseason
1. Kansas
10. West Virginia
12. Kansas State
16. Texas
25. Iowa State
26. Texas Tech
34. TCU
40. Baylor
52. Oklahoma
62. Oklahoma State

Back three are higher than I think they'll end up, TCU c/should be top half Big 12 by season's end.

Aside from Kansas, I'm not sure those teams deserve to be ranked that high.

Baylor at 40?

I think Big XII could get 7 Top 40/50.

Not a believer that Baylor finishes Top 50, tho.
