Stopped and grabbed some fresh Michigan cherries a few minutes ago. Mrs. Goose is fixing to make a pie when we get home. Below are the top-6 pies per Duff Goldman, Rosie O'Donnell, Guy Ferrari, and TGFN.

    1. Apple
    2. Pumpkin
    3. Cherry
    4. Blueberry
    5. Chicken Pot
    6. Shepherd's

    Thoughts?

I'm just gonna throw it out there. Apple pie is over rated. Dare I say it's almost not even good.

I love the savory pies the best. Shepard's pie
    tomato pie
    chicken pot pie
If I had to pick anything else it would be cherry, chocolate, pumpkin, or butterscotch.

That would have made my personal top-5 when I was 10 years old, but I've expanded my pilate since then. Like a pb&j sammich, it's nice to have a slice once in a blue moon.

Buttermilk pie which my grandmother made along with her stories "I am child of the depression" was a Thanksgiving and Christmas tradition. She also used mayonnaise in cakes which was a depression era substitute for eggs and oil.

lol no mint. Its basically a chocolate walnut pie. That and bourbon balls are both huge here around Derby time.

Elderberry. Many never had it. My grandfather always said that the only thing better than Elderberry pie was more Elderberry pie.

The saddest day of my life was having to give up pecan pie when I became diabetic. Yet my #1 is apple, because my Mama Mai’s version would make a puppy pull a freight train. She only used home-canned apples, never fresh cut or store canned. Her crust was buttermilk, churned butter, and Adluh flour. Never had once since that even came close to hers.

Never had Elderberry pie, though I have always heard, the riper the berry the sweeter the juice. Laughing

Cherry pie sits just outside my Top 5. Sweet potato pie beats out pumpkin tho.

While I am at it, I leave the meat pies in their own category. And pizza ain’t a pie, sorry ‘bout that.
