Ban worthy posts?

Actually, this is one of the few forums I’ve ever posted on where there is no widely available “rules” post. The only one I see is for subscription members only on the main board.

There was a link to this in that thread. It says it’s for football but I assume it also applies to all message boards on Rivals.

The most recent ban I received was on another board, and a half korean half american kid was making Japanese jokes.

...so i thought "lets make fun of Japan", and said "apologize for Pearl Harbor". boom banned. Yellow skin seems to be the thinnest.

For me a guy was talking about how he was very attracted to indians. I asked, "casino indians or gas station indians?" Apparently that was the most racist comment the mod has ever heard. Since its stereotyping and referring to a native American as an Indian is the same as calling a black guy the N bomb.

Btw, I'm over 1/4 Cherokee. Just wasnt smart enough to find all the official documents to take advantage of it. When I was younger.

Pretty sure you can still file the paperwork. My wife is an enrolled member and the benefits are pretty awesome (ie: free money from the casino). You only need to be 1/16th to be a member - but yes, genealogical ties with the necessary documentation and DNA testing is required. So, would you belong to the Cherokee Nation, Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, or the United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians?

This board is kinda like the "Last Bastion of Free Speech" when it comes to rivals. Stuff rarely gets locked and posters rarely get banned. I like it that way even with those who I disagree with.

Think it depends on the mods. Seemed to me the PSU football scandal was a touchy topic and the hammer was out.

GREAT TOPIC!

I’m the lead Moderator on another sports forum. I love banning people. Here is how I make ban decisions.

1. Player bashing
2. Foul and nasty language
3. Supporting Trump or right wing agendas
4. Posts that are counter to gender diversity and inclusion
5. New posters from another board; for example the OSU forum the Nut House

If the poster is a paying subscriber, I will give them lots of leeway. Even then, I have to call a meeting across the other Moderators before I make a ban decision on a paying subscriber..

Anywho, banning posters is the best part of the job. I really enjoy it. It’s the most important part of the job and the most fun part.

I’ve always wanted to know what a mod makes, is it more than Starbucks? Is 401k included, and how much vacation time do they give you?
