Called a sweep and still thinking it will happen.
Boston's bullpen is trash
Astros played well tonight .....Verlander and all the Astro pitchers controlled the game......what is amazing is that the Astro put relievers in for one inning only and have enough pitchers to have a great reliever each inning....
Oh good. I can’t wait to watch the Astros beat LA for the second straight year.
Dodgers are a good team and probably better than last year.
The question is can their pitchers match up with the Astros.
Red Sox needed to win last night with Price set to start game 2. Price is lost in the head come the playoffs. Never has a game 1 been so important. Congrats Astros, series is over.
Beating the cold? It was 50 degrees last night.
Boston fans were in winter coats. Surely they aren’t all pussies?
I still don't know why Boston was considered to be unbeatable...
Do not like the design of the team. Think the Astros and both NLCS clubs are designed better.
Taking nothing away from Boston because they have some great players.
Rick Porcello and David Price are not worth 70-80 million dollars a year.
Think it was a little colder than that.
All week I was hearing how the Astros were not going to play well in the cold.
Josh Reddick wore a bodysuit I guess to make fun of Boston and their supposed advantage.
Boss is taking me to the game Wed. Hope it finishes with a sweep.
I don't think we sweep them but winning 1 game in Boston was huge.
Problem is Gerrit Cole is ... Verlander 2.0. If you've never seen him pitch don't expect anything less that what you saw last night from the mound. Hoping he has an off night ain't going to work cause if you going to beat him you have to earn it.
Tonight is a must win for Boston.
Houston is winning this series, and the next.
Yep - those 2 are a 1A and 1B. Same kind of stuff and both had great years.
No way we counting our chickens before they hatch. It is so hard to win it all and to do it back to back is almost unheard of. It's only happened less than 10 times ever and the last time was 18 yrs ago. You have to have a great team, have a little luck and have unexpected heros to step up during the run...
Let's just win game 2 and go from there.
I get it, and I would be saying the same thing if it were the Tigers. But from the outside looking in i'd be surprised if Houston doesn't win this thing.
So Chris Sale is spending the night in the hospital for a stomach illness. That might explain why he was off last night.
Cole settled down eventually, but the Sox certainly put pressure on him early. Couldn’t capitalize the first time they loaded the bases against him, but Bradley’s 3 run double was enough. The Boston bullpen looked completely in control tonight, a 180 from yesterday’s performance.
All squared heading to Houston.
I was there there for the game. It was definitely pretty damn chilly, but it felt cooler than it actually was. At 10pm in the middle of the game it was 50 degrees on the nose.
Nothing compared to the low 30s all of early April...that's too cold for baseball if you ask me.
try baseball on an august night in sf
This should be a real battle going forward. Go Red Sox!!
Yep. Hope they bring their big boy pants!!
We had our chances in game two and couldn't capitalize plus we shot ourselves in the foot to many time...One hopper to Cole and he over throws first baseman... Then walk - wild pitch - wild pitch - pass ball - score... Just wasn't meant to be plus Boston has a really good team...
I see there's some trash talking between the two teams today... I look for a high scoring game tonight...
Baseball at this level is fantastic....
Bradley Jr is killing ‘Stros.
Him and Pearce suppying the offense tonight. Go Cocks!!!
As a Sox fan I'm happy but Houston is just too damn good to get my hopes up.
Yep, let’s just finish this game off and go again tomorrow.
Someone school me on what was controversial about Kemp's catch. What does it matter if it hit the wall or not? It was still below the HR line, didnt leave the field of play, and never touched the ground.
So why in the hell did Boston challenge it and what would the outcome be if it was ruled that the ball hit the wall?
If the ball hit the wall it's a live ball, not an out. Drove me NUTS that the announcers just shrugged it off as a routine play and went to commercial.
It was a helluva catch by Kemp. That guy was so good in college at Vanderbilt, you wouldn’t believe it because he was all of 4’3” but damn he was a fun ball player to watch. Glad to see him doing well in Houston.
