I believe this is the first time auburn has been ranked since 2003

There is no rational argument for Nova to be over WVU.

JFC, is that true? 15 years is a long time to go without dancing. Wow.

Yes we lost in the sweet 16 in 2003 to eventual national champion Syracuse with Carmelo by 1 point. Upset 2 seed wake forest that year in the 2nd round. We haven’t been back to the tourney since

Here are some reasons:
Villanova would be favored by 4-5 points on a neutral court (KenPom)
Big 12 is perennially over rated.
Nova would smack wvu head-to-head despite all of our injuries this season.

Like he said, there are no rational arguments to why you would put nova ahead of WVU.

Well they both lost to currently unranked teams but WVU's was by 23 on a neutral court and Nova's was by 8 in a conference road game (and we've seen how hard conference road games can be).

Both teams have two KenPom Top 20 wins.

I want to stay #2..you guys can have it, just don't slip up again and call it a fluke every time Villanova loses.

No complaints from this UNC fan about dropping to 20th. Advanced metrics say UNC is much better than 20th in the country and their four losses are a result of a brutal strength of schedule much like Tennessee. However, I think it is fair to have us at 20th based on win/loss results (which is more the focus of polls). Quite frankly, I prefer to be under the radar like last year when human polls had us around 10th when we were much better, and I also think this UNC team still has a lot of question marks at center and with our young bench that could continue to result in some issues during tough ACC play. Time will tell.

Also, I am very happy for Matt Painter - that guy has had some terrible injury luck when he has had his best teams, so hear is to hoping they are fully healthy when March rolls around.

WVU would get manhandled by Nova. They wouldn’t be able to rattle Brunson and force nearly enough turnovers. Horrible matchup that WVU must avoid in March.

Nova can't hold the little sisters of the poor under 80+ points this year.

We dont just rely on turnovers anymore. Our half court D is just as good or better than our full court pressure this season, and we score 85 per game.

Not to mention we've played all year without one of our best players, and he comes back this week.

Nova doesn't scare me at all. Could name at least 4 or 5 teams I'd be MUCH more worried about meeting in March.

I still have a lot of trouble accepting that UVA is the third best team in the country.

Probably why I'm also 35 and single. I have trouble believing I'm good enough even though I clearly am.

WVU has the better resume without it's 2nd best player playing a single minute this year. We get him back on the 15th. And no, you would not beat us. The Big Least is shell of it's former self.

Laughing Teams like DePaul, Marquette, Butler did whatever they wanted offensively against Nova. You're giving up 92 ppg in that watered down/leftover/midwest version of the Big East.

WVU would bitch slap those boys...

Nova puts in the scrubs when games get out of hand. So many injuries that the second half usually leads to a closer game. I suspect Huggins will just start crying on the court again if he has to play Nova in the tournament. #Sad!!!

I would love to play any of the teams we were with in the sixteen team big east and I think everyone wants a Brunson-Carter matchup

Whole lot of nobodies in the top 10. Might be the worst down year since 2013.

haha Not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, but people say this every year.

The only team in there that hasn't been around the top 10 or top 15 pretty consistently over the last several years is Texas Tech.

Tennessee and Gonzaga must be sisters of poor then. They didn’t score 80. Do you even watch Nova games? They had huge leads immediately vs Marquette and DePaul and coasted. There’s no need for defensive urgency when you are scoring at will. It’s human nature. They won those games by double digits and using them as reference points? Nova is the #1 team in nation in offensive efficiency. You’re not always going to be on your p’s and q’s defensively when you score that easily. WVU has the #175 offensive team in the country. If you think they’re gonna shoot 15-22 from 3 against Nova on a nuetral court you are off your rocker. Talk to me about Nova’s D when they actually feel threatened by a good opponent.

Not sure where youre getting #175 from. I'm not really a start nerd but from what I see...

30th in offensive efficiency. Nova is 2nd.

8th defensive efficiency. Nova is 69th.

If you think a team like WVU needs to shot 15-22 from 3 to beat Nova, you're off your rocker.
