Georgia remains the most overrated program of the last 10 years, but there’s a new leader for the last 25 years: Florida State.

Wow, Pitt dropped out of the Top 25. We were 23rd a year ago and now not in it at all. My have we fallen.

    Lol.

Over the last 25 years, FSU has won 3 National Championships and played for 3 others.

We’ve certainly had some down years in there and a “lost decade” but to say we’re overrated over a quarter of a century is just preposterous.

Like us, the AP sportswriters must really get bored during the off season. I would love to see what that retarded statement was based on

There's only four programs in the last 25 years that can boast at least 3 national championships. FSU is one of them. But hey, I think the writer is onto something here...

He's on something is more like it. Florida State has won three national championships, eighteen conference titles and six division titles along with a playoff appearance. The Seminoles have achieved three undefeated seasons and finished ranked in the top four of the AP Poll for 14 straight years from 1987 through 2000. The 1999 team received votes from ESPN as one of the top teams in college football history. But since he is only going back to 1992 I suppose 9 instead of 14 in the top 4 will have to do

I'm surprised UW is in the top 25, considering that we had nearly 50 years of dark age prior to Alvy.

#11 isn't bad for my Noles considering we've had a football team for about half as long as everyone else on the list.

Going by this metric 15 years ago, Nebraska might have been two, maybe three spots higher. Makes me so mad.

I hope Frost starts making up for lost time quickly.

That’s easy, the biggest drop from preaseason to final ranking.

For those complaining about the rankings, isn’t it just adding up every time a team has been ranked and the ranking at that time? Totally subjective.

Now you can argue about how fair the rankings were that were given to the teams.

A one time drop from #3 to what ever does not constitute a biggest fail in the last 25 years

    True.

    2000 Bama started #3 and ended 3-8.

    That’s far worse than 7-6...

You guys had an interesting ride from the 90’s into the Saban era. Seemed pretty up and down. Every blue blood has been through it though. The victim of this decade is/was Texas. Last decade was Michigan, ND and Nebraska. 90’s was USC, Bama and OU. Ohio State probably has been the most constant of all.

71 days left. I'm sure we can get a report on which teams have the most size 14+ shoes over a period of 15 years before the off-season ends.
