Wow! Pelicans got fleeced. They got 3 bench guys and didn’t have to part with Kuzma. And if the Lakers are good, the Pelicans have 3 late 1st round draft choices to look forward to.

Fix was in ever since LeBron’s boy was named the Pelicans GM. The league refuses to go another year without having LeBron contending.

You’ve got to be kidding me. Ingram Ball and Hart are all incomplete role players. Only Ingram is a legit starter in the league and he’d only be a 4th or 5th option on a good team.

They kept their only young player with promise in Kuzma. The Pels got fleeced.

Rich Paul is his agent.....same as Lebrons.

The NBA has a serious problem with collusion, these backdoor deals are taking place while guys are still under contract and thats illegal, yet the League cant stop it.

You have a couple agents who control all the megastars in the NBA and are cutting back room deals, not a good look for the league. We all knew AD was going to LA it was just a matter of time.

At this point Harden to LA wouldn't surprise me either......thats how shady the NBA is lately.

That trade shows how stupid the Lakers are at this point.

A deal this one sided should only he made to get Lebron in his prime five years ago.

    Pelicans will flip Ball next.

Watch the Magic do the most Magic thing ever and trade for him.

Lol the Raptors just pulled off a championship without a super team. One star, a group of solid role players, and a rookie head coach...

Meanwhile, Lebron missed the playoffs with his group. This will bring him back to a familiar place where he has multiple superstars on his team (look for Kemba Walker to sign in LA as well) and he's not forced to carry the load.

Good get for the Lakers as long as AD isn't made of glass again this year.

I don't think the Lakers gave up too much, but I'm not sure I would go that far. What other offers did the Pelicans have? Also I wouldn't call Ingram and Ball bench players (particularly on the Pelicans) although both have injury issues.

I'd take Josh Hart off their hands. He'd wind up being a heck of a player in Toronto's system.

They didn't get Kuzma though... Which is a mistake on their behalf. They should have demanded it because the Lakers were ****ed otherwise.

Your definition of a superstar is significantly different than mine. I wouldn't call Walker a superstar. I'm not even sure I would call Kyrie one.

What leverage did they have? I don't think there was an offer on the table that was close to this one (given this report is true).

That is actually not bad for the Pelicans

Trade could look better in a few years if Father Time starts hitting LeBron & Anthony Davis can’t stay healthy

Disagree. Lonzo and Ingram are both injury-prone skinny dudes who have not lived up to expectations and have poor work ethic. Josh Hart is a bench player, and two of the three 1st-round picks will probably be low, since the Lakers have AD now.

IMO, it's a lot of throwaways in exchange for one superstar.

Not sure the health of LeBron or Davis makes any difference at all from the Pelicans perspective. Davis made it clear that he isn't going to resign so it is really about taking the best option.

The dude was 10th in league scoring this year at 25.6 ppg, playing in Charlotte. He's in his prime at 29 years old for another 3-4 years.

James / David / Walker would be ridiculous.

Maybe you disagree with "superstar"... Fine... Top 5 PG in the NBA, how about that? Huge upgrade on Rondo.

Matters who the Pelicans draft with the #4 pick.

There is a lot of value in this year's draft.
I can see the Pels getting 2 franchise players.
    Zion..
    Possibly Culver

LA put themself in such a bad spot because for the past 5 months they been negotiating against themselves and everyone knows it, AD was going there it was just how much could the Pelicans rape them for

Well, looks like they mortgaged their future on this, this is the equivalent of the Ricky Williams deal the Saints made awhile back, Damn

Lakers are in win now mode with Lebron on the tail end but geez, this was a straight up armed robbery except instead of a gun the Pelicans front office used telephones and fax machines to get this done

Kuzma is a 1 way player , not as good as many of you are claiming but if the Lakers get Jimmy Butler then they probably become the West favorite

I think they could compete with anyone now given the Warriors injuries if their coaching is competent.

I think the Pels did damn good. AD was a 1 year rental for anyone not named the Lakers or Knicks, so Griffin’s hands were tied to an extent. Guess the Knicks chickened out, Boston wasn’t parting with Tatum either.

Oh I didn’t realize they were up #1. Zion all day, and they’re on the way to building a contender. Put themselves in good position. Reminds me a little of the Herschel Walker trade.

If that's true it cha gets a lot. If they can essentially take only lottery type talent for the next 6-7 years (post Lebron) they'll be reaping the benefits for a long time.

They have to hope that at least one of Ball or Ingram develops into an All Star caliber player though.

    Basketball is different than football.

This will only work if the Lakers can develop players.
A lot of talent in the second round and with undrafted players.
