Tell me who I am missing:

Wojo-Marquette
Chris Collins-Northwestern
Johnny Dawkins-UCF
Tommy Amaker-Harvard
Jeff Capel-Pitt
Bobby Hurley-Arizona State

There are a few more...

Kenny Blakeney- Howard
Mike Brey- Notre Dame
Greg Paulus- Niagra
Mike Schrage- Elon (Director of Basketball Operations)

Quin Snyder is the Head Coach for the Utah Jazz, too.

Give me Chris Beard or Chris Holtmann over any of the Duke connections. Also, I might take Scheyer, too. Or Brad Stevens.

My top 5 list wouldn't include any Duke connections. Bennett probably wouldn't leave UVA for a conference rival, but might be worth a shot.

1. Chris Beard
2. Chris Holtmann
3. Brad Stevens
4. Tony Bennett
5. Nate Oats

Both Holtmann and Oats are at football schools. But I actually wouldn't be surprised to see them stay with their respective programs and have singular legacies there. One thing to remember, as I have said many times, is that, when a DI school has football and hoops programs doing well at the same time, they tend to feed off each other's success. Of course, by going to Duke, they would be kings of the mountain, and maybe they would love the challenge of replacing an all-time-great.

I'm a big Holtmann fan. Would love him at UNC after Roy.

Just get the feeling he'll be a coach at a blue blood some day. I'd be content with him or Beard. I never like the idea of "keeping it in the family." A lot of people say K will handpick the next coach. Ultimately, of course, the AD makes the pick, but K sure does have a lot of clout. And because he was picked as the Duke coach without a winning track record or much experience, he'd probably have confidence in one of his former guys running the show. I'm sure UNC fans would have similar anxious feelings if the AD were limiting his pool to the likes of Jerry Stackhouse, Wes Miller, Hubert Davis, or CB McGrath. Would be foolish for any AD to not look outside of the family, so hopefully Beard, Holtmann, and others will get the opportunity.

It's true. Holtmann could easily remain at Ohio State for a long time. It's hard to get a better coaching gig than Ohio State. I have them ranked as the 10th best program of all-time. I think he grew up a Kentucky fan, so who knows if that would play a factor? I think he'll have a shot at a blue blood position someday, if he wants it.

The SEC tends to pay its coaches a little higher, so that could keep Oats around for a bit. I can't imagine most coaches see Alabama as their final destination spot, however. 2004 is the only time in program history that they've advanced to the Elite 8. Historically, they're very unimpressive. But, perhaps Oats wants the challenge of establishing a program on the rise.

Yeah, 100 percent agree. Best candidate over family ties all the way.

Yep! Bama has a very unimpressive hoops history. That, and football reigning supreme there could lead to Oats going to a hoops-first school someday. A big factor in him staying, if he does, could be him wanting to create the first fine run in program history. Of course, the football team doing great can make for very fun recruiting visits for hoops players, and visa-versa.
