Included in the tv schedule is the movement of Army at Duke to Fri Aug 31. 7 FBS games now on that Friday.
Some good looking matchups spread throughout there. Wish UofL was playing Bama with Lamar. It would obviously be a lot more compelling than presumably Will Gardner is going to be.
Why is the VaTech FSU game so early in the season?
For tv purposes. Remember Winston started his career on a Labor Day at Pitt.
The Sun and Mon games should be fantastic this year.
I listened to an Athlon podcast yesterday and they think Jawon Pass can be a good passing QB for Louisville.
So we can get at 'em before their team gels...
To showcase lethal simplicity
I heard it is because they want to have the greatest time possible between the rematch in the ACC title game.
We don’t need to bring that game up...
Don't act like you're not terrified
Shark humper ruined me from being scared of anything.
Lol. Excellent point sir
Bud Foster ain't skeered...

BC vs the U on a Friday night because of $$ vs Saturday. Nothing worse than getting to Chestnut Hill during rush hour on a Friday. I live within 35 miles but for anyone outside Greater Boston with season tickets a real pain to get to tailgates. All about tv $$$.
Because for the first time since the swamp lizards were relevant, the ACC didn't dick FSU with a Thursday night game.
I'm not even sure what UF has to do with you answering that question but ok. I guess. Just another good game to open the season IMO. Seemed earlier than years past.
Why is the Thursday night game a problem?
We always played them on the road, usually at that shithole in Raleigh. I only remember one home Thursday nighter. Clemson a long time ago
Yeah, but VT's game with FSU is at Doak this year...
I was just taking a pop shot because the timelines were similar. I think the last time VT played at Doak was the season opener.
The point was that FSU finally avoids the Thursday night game this season but has to open against Tech with a new coaching staff.
Short week, usually on the road, and I believe most have been after a bigger game. FSU's record in those games is very pedestrian.
But like I said, VT plays FSU at home this year...
I wouldn't be surprised if the Hokies are favored in that game. Home or not, that's a tough opener for a new coaching staff.
Hokies will find a way to lose. I'm glad they have the Noles early in the year, before you guys gel...
Monday night of a holiday weekend. I believe we played Miami on Labor Day at home.
It's a pick em. Someone posted the vegas odds in another post here today. I'd imagine when we announce our starting QB the odds go 3 points one way or the other. IMO, I'd be shocked if Francois isn't our starter.
A few times I believe. I hated it. A rivalry game on week 1 sucks.
