Memphis to the ACC
Please bump the thread from earlier this week where I said Memphis was winning today. TIA
Too soon, guys. Too soon.
Games not over. The games I said to watch for upsets was
Going well so far for me.
Memphis could still make an appearance in the clown team thread.
This isn't real, remember UCFhonors says UCF is best team in country.
ucfail. welcome to the party pal!
Good football game and IMO, USF is better than both of these teams. They should give the AAC more recognition
UCF will win
If they do its because the football gods hate me, my teams, and love the teams I hate. I wont delete my above post as I stand behind it in the spirit it was intended.
To piss them off
OP pulled a Tommy Trojan
Thanks for jinxing it jackass
Well, that didn’t go as planned.
Way to Tennessee there.
...Man, I'm starting to wonder if that's an outdated reference.
Janxed the jinx..... eventually this board will learn....
What would those Memphacts be?
Huepel with the STONES to go for it on 4th down... twice!!!
That touchdown romp though.
Memphis outplayed us until the rain started. A win is a win - I'll take it.
I can't believe there's someone here dumb enough to call USF - who just almost lost to Tulsa .... TULSA!?! - better than UCF(or Cincinatti, for that matter)
Posted for Posterity.
Every team has “that” game. I said to my wife I’d be happy with a one point win. I’m happy.
OP came to troll from the hoops board.
they are just trolling
UCF has had 1 game like this so far this season , USF has had 3 vs way worse offenses
OPie UCFapped too soon.
OP learned about the everlasting, Rivals Soundoff, premature Jinx today.
As the saying goes, it ain't over till that fat lady sings, 12 straight wins vs Memphis, knights roll on!
I blame you.
Blame OP for the jinx
I know there isn't a playoff. I fought against it, because I knew an eight-team playoff would be prohibitive (meaning less inclusive). What they did whoever it was, was limit participation to 4 teams, but the reality is BCS rules (at least particular to being included) still apply to some level. There really isn't a NC.
That's the irony. In fact YOU were the one who tell me that. That the Belt (CFP) is mostly a superficial title that really has no relevance other than putting one team in the national spotlight, temporarily, which in fact it DOES.
So, we are left with the problem that CFP creates, a pseudo-championship. Not a legitimate one, but a temporary one that really isn't definitive. But, I will say this, as far as recognition goes, I think CFP is doing a great job. CFP does deserve the recognition whichever team meets that standard deserves it. Just like in 1984, when U.C.L.A. defeated Miami, FL in the Fiesta Bowl. They were deserving of the recognition they deserve, from doing that.
A CFP NC included BYU. That says BYU was a national champion in 1984. I don't have to research is other than give fair credit to the process, itself. That gave BYU the recognition they deserved, fairly for being a participant to CFP.
In FACT, a case (a legitmate one, I might add) can be made for every participant to the CFP national championship. As an alternate national champion. Without altering anything. So, the CFP does winnow it down. To one champion. Which I suppose is fair, but as a playoff goes, it's still only giving 1/3 (4/12) recognition, that needs to be rectified, somehow. All that really would need to happen would be to include an additional two championships (semi-finalists) along with the FCS NC, for a Final Four NC.
Or, for people who want an 8 team playoff and I can sympathize, simply putting conferences into the metric of 16-team superstructure might help. Which is as simple as follows:
1. ACC: add Cincinnati and Connecticut (N. Dame to the Big Ten).
2. SEC: add Memphis and E. Carolina
3. Big Ten: add Notre Dame and W. Virginia
4. Big XII: add S. Methodist, Houston, Rice, Tulane, UTSA, ? UCF and USF.
5. Pac-12: add San Diego St., U.N.L.V., Hawaii and Boise St.
6. MAC: add Temple, Massachusetts, Army, and Navy
7. MWC: add Arkansas St., S. Mississippi, Louisiana Tech, N.M.S.U., UTEP, N. Texas, Texas St. and Tulsa.
8. C-USA and Sun Belt: merge
9. BYU and Liberty: Independent.
Those are 16-team conferences, those are the basis from which a NC follows. It wouldn't be that difficult to include those within a playoff format.
