@Jaycg15 go

The Draymond Green of the WCC.

Longtime friends and teammates with the Ball brothers. Remember watching some Chino Hills games and I thought he was clearly D1 talent. Surprised he couldn't even muster a scholarship from Cal or maybe San Diego State or Fresno State.

Hyungjung Lee @MGC_07

Yup. That's the guy. He very well might be the best shooter in the country. I want to say he and Trey Murphy were the only two players in the country last year in the 50-90-40 club. Could be a big-time steal. He's definitely capable of being A-10 POY.

I haven't watched him a whole lot. I know he does well in spot-up situations and off screens. Just wonder if he can consistently create his own shot. If not, that might limit his ceiling a bit. Excellent valued pick, though. Since hail was taking a while I had some time to think, and I honestly considered foregoing the Manny Bates selection and switching to Lee.

Yeah, I’d stumbled across an article about him, and that’s what put me onto the pick. I’ve only seen some highlights, but he looks legit.

I considered him. I just don’t think Davidson will be good enough for Lee to win CPOY when there will be other deserving players on much better teams. Hell, if the Bonnie’s win the league by 3 games like I’d suspect, it almost has to go to Lofton or Osun. The only team with a chance to be close is Richmond and that means Gilyard is the only other viable candidate imo.

He’s got some competition for CPOY, but he’s more of a lock for first team all conference than any major conference player left is for third team all conference. Should also be a solid win share guy.

Grant Basile, Wright State.

Yeah, that was kind of my thinking, too. Davidson finished 3rd last season and they lost Kellan Grady. Could easily see them slipping to 5th or 6th. If Davidson can be a top 3 team, then he might have a shot. Great prospect, though. I think he'll find himself on an NBA roster in a year or two.

Keegan Murray, Iowa

@WojoRising is on the clock.

I like him a lot. One of the best per minute players in this draft. Actually considered taking him in Round 8. But, then I thought nobody else is going to take him this early. Thought I could snag him in a later round. And then I got a little hesitant because 1. He's playing in a loaded Big Ten and 2. Iowa's roster looks a little shaky. They might be a bubble team. But, I see them more as an NIT team.

I could see Murray being Big Ten DPOY, or perhaps 2nd Team All-Conference.

What the heck, I’ll do Malik Osborne. 16 and 13 in the first exhibition and he played with a relentless motor, looking like a guy who knows it’s his time to lead the team.

Damn. I almost really did snipe you, hence my sudden interest in Brooks’ stat line projections
I had virtually no time to check the board over the weekend. Halloween parties and birthday parties = tons of drinking. Brooks was an easy pick to make at this point, I had no interest in doing research for the last one.

Manny Bates, so good he made it twice.

I could be in for a rough season based on this list.

Here is my team:

11. Jaden Ivey, Purdue = First team All Big Ten lock :), 3rd team AA
14. Jahvon Quinerly, Alabama = SEC POY, 3rd team AA
35. Andrew Nembhard, Gonzaga = First team All WCC, HM AA
38. David McCormack, Kansas = First team All B12, HM AA
59. Colin Castleton, Florida = First team All SEC (ok, maybe 2nd team)
62. Kenneth Lofton, Louisiana Tech = CUSA POY, HM AA
83. Jermaine Samuels, Villanova = First team All Big East
86. Prentiss Hubb, Notre Dame = 2nd team All ACC
107. Osun Osunniyi, Saint Bonaventure = First tam All A10 (maybe CPOY)
110. Zach Edey, Purdue = Wildcard, could be 1st team All Big Ten or could not make a Big Ten team
131. DeAndre Williams, Memphis = 2nd team All AAC
134. Myles Johnson, UCLA = Even bigger wild card. Could be PAC12 DPOY or could be off my roster

Here are my top 12 undrafted players. Isaiah Stevens and Teddy Allen are two noticeable omissions. Feel pretty confident that either of those guys would have been monster steals.

93. Isaiah Stevens, Colorado State
99. Justin Powell, Tennessee
105. Xavier Johnson, Indiana
106. Justice Sueing, Ohio State
110. Baylor Scheierman, South Dakota State
111. Nijel Pack, Kansas State
114. Chuck Harris, Butler
117. Nate Lasewski, Notre Dame
118. Teddy Allen, New Mexico State
120. Garrison Brooks, Mississippi State
122. Wendell Moore, Duke
123. Tanner Groves, Oklahoma

Don't think those 12 guys would necessarily be the best team, as there are too many players from P6 conferences. Most of the players that will make 1st/2nd Team All-Conference were drafted. If I drafted a JV team, it might look like this:

Isaiah Stevens, Colorado State
Justin Powell, Tennessee
Justice Sueing, Ohio State
Teddy Allen, New Mexico State
Wendell Moore, Duke
Vince Williams, VCU
Julian Strawther, Gonzaga
Peyton Watson, UCLA
Mark Sears, Ohio
Jalen Ray, Hofstra
Jordan Hall, Saint Joseph's
John-Michael Wright, High Point

Great stuff as always, thanks DD. Do you have last years lists still? I’m curious what the biggest drops YoY are. Has to be Kihei Clark, right? Or maybe you weren’t as high as others on him last year

Are you talking about comparing my preseason rankings with my rankings from last year? Or are you talking about last year's draft?

Kihei Clark easily could be a top 100 guy. Just think his offensive capabilities are limited. Could see UVA deferring to Beekman a bit, and possibly Franklin, too.

So yes, Clark has fallen significantly. I know I had Garrison Brooks and John Fulkerson in my top 50 last year. To be fair, Brooks was the only returning ACC player from the 1st and 2nd teams. And Fulkerson was 1st Team All-SEC. They both had their struggles last season. I also overvalued the impact of Justice Sueing. Really liked his play at Cal. Could still be an All Big-Ten player, but he clearly didn't warrant a top 50 preseason ranking last year.

AJ Green fell dramatically, but that's simply because he had a serious hip injury. He could easily be an HM All-American/top 50 type player. Oscar Tshiebwe and Ochai Agbaji had modest drops, nothing too crazy. I also dropped Arizona State's Marreon Jackson significantly, mostly because he's transferring up and that often has a negative impact on a player's performance. There are others, of course.

My 9th Round Pick just got a DUI. Fantastic. I assume he'll be transferring to Gonzaga soon?
