2020-21 College Basketball Draft, FINAL STANDINGS

Hey @dukedevilz, can you edit your page 1 posts? It would be great if the first post had the selection order and the 2nd post was updated periodically with the picks taken. It's getting harder to see who has been taken and it would be easier if we could go to page 1 to see a list (sans the most recent picks).

Impressive. This won't change much, but I would note that Jordan Brown is now playing for Arizona, and Romello White is with Ole Miss. They're both eligible transfers this season.

Updated to reflect this. Also, I was hoping Carr would slip to me. Good pick.

Man this draft gets more difficult as it goes on. There wasn’t too much debate for me on my first few picks, but there is far less separation between guys ranked in the 30’s and 40’s than the single digits and 10’s. I have so many guys I’m considering for my next pick.

This is where it turns into guys I want to track, guys that I've watched in the past, and guys that I think will take a step.

Feel the same way. The first 3 rounds or so I was maybe considering 2-3 guys. Last round I was considering about 10. And it will probably by 10+ prospects from here on out. And these are the rounds that can easily separate one team from another.

I wanted to snag Jalen Suggs, but feared there could be some cannibalism for awards/attention on Gonzaga. Now I’m regretting it

Yeah, Gonzaga is a really tough situation. Between Timme, Kispert, and Suggs, it's tough to know who exactly is going to be the #1 guy. Joel Ayayi is very talented, too. They have an extremely balanced team. The odds of Gonzaga having at least one All-American is probably north of 80%. Just not sure who that is. I would say Suggs has the highest ceiling. He's expected to be a first round pick. Explosive athlete, but he could certainly improve on his outside shooting. If a Gonzaga guy isn't an All-American, then that would be a huge blow; you're looking at probably only 2 points for being 1st Team All-Conference. And because of being surrounded by good teammates, one of these guys could easily slide into the 2nd Team.

Yep. I felt fine with taking a shot with him in the 4th round. Not sure I could have pulled the trigger earlier.

This is the exact reason I passed on all Zags players. Too much gamble trying to figure out who will be the AA. I'd rather go for a player who may not be AA, but has a great chance of being a 4 point player at a major conference.

True, but nobody took one of the Zags in Rounds 1 or 2. Might be worth the risk in Round 3 or 4.

i debated Huff vs Timme, but felt that Huff was a much safer pick because he had a higher floor.
Drew Timme is a stud. If he stays next season, he's NPOY material, imo. Really good at everything, and if he adds the three back into his game like he had in HS, there's nothing he can't do on the offensive end. He might have that ability this year, honestly, but I don't think he could beat out Garza - too similar of a skillset.

I honestly can't see Huff being 1st Team All-Conference. I could see him being Defensive Conference POY, which is 4 points and equivalent to being 1st Team. But, he's likely UVA's #3 guy behind Sam Hauser and Kihei Clark. I see Huff's ceiling being maybe 2nd Team All-Conference. I could easily see Timme being 2nd or 3rd Team All-American, however. But, who knows? I've certainly been wrong before.

meh, you're just saying that cause you blew your load on Hauser in round 1. I think Huff is UVA's best player and now that he's an upper classman and on a preseason top 5 team I expect him to do very well and be a favorite for first team ACC.

Huff is super efficient and probably merits more touches. However, I would be very, very surprised if Hauser isn't the go-to guy.
