It's hard to pick a best one. So many good and unique one's in their own ways. To be honest, many of the obscure and least hyped always seem to be the best. The BC point-shaving scandal was excellent....forget the exact name. Also, really enjoyed the Randy Moss one and Doc and Darryl. Like I said, it's almost impossible for me to hone in on just a couple.

The stuff on his UMass days was really good. I'll give you that. But, his portrayal of himself as defender of youth and families and putting himself last on all occasions was a little much.

And who knew he didn't like Mexicans? o_O

Agree. Cal is OK in my book. Glad they showed him working the refs and yelling at his players, because MSU fans (and other fans) are always complaining that Izzo yells too much and that 5-stars won't come to MSU because of it.

I do wish they would've showed some more from the "other" side though. Coaches who lost recruits to Calipari, or discussed some of the rumblings of certain recruitments, etc. Didn't mention Anthony Davis rumors, or how some of the Memphis guys (other than Rose) had academic issues, etc.

They kind of just framed it like Calipari had no idea what was going on in any instance. They hinted at it with the WWW - Detroit, Derrick Rose SAT pass in Detroit connection, but it wasn't more than just a single comment by that one white guy. They also mentioned the "How could Cal not noticed Camby's gold chains" - but never really got down into the details other than that.

But then again, it wasn't about Calipari being "dirty" or not. It was about the One and Done culture. Can't really deny his success on that front. How many #1 to Top-5 picks has he had? It was insane. I was watching with my wife and her comments were "Well why wouldn't you want to play for him, if he's gonna help you become a millionaire" Laughing

His yelling during games seemed kind of wierd to me. What he yelled and how he yells.

I can't even describe what it sounded like. Mentally challenged maybe.

Hos yelling is super weird. I know exactly what you mean. Not to be offensive towards anyone who has a kid that is mentally handicap, but it almost did sound like a mentally habdicap kid yelling in some of those clips now that you mention it.

Again, not that theres anything wrong with that, just not what Id expect.

I remember Cal yelling "You selfish motherfvcker" at Terrance Jones one time. It got quiet just as he yelled it too. Funny stuff.

I appreciated Andy Katz defending the Memphis situation. Even he said, "At that point, what are you going to do if you're Memphis?" Like, they're playing in the tournament and you expect a player to retake the SAT to validate his test score. Screw that. Nobody would have done that. That said, I also agree with Katz that Rose likely cheated on his exam. Just odd that they'd still be pursuing that, that late in the season. Typical NCAA, worried more about incoming recruits academics than actual cbb player academics.

I'm skeptical about those saying they didn't watch it. I wouldn't see much point or interest participating in this thread otherwise. I believe they watched, but don't want to cop to it. No big deal though. It doesn't make you look bad if you watched and Cal isn't your favorite guy. Just don't understand the whole "too cool for school" mentality. Nobody is going to think any less of you if you admitted to watching it.

You need to accept what @Da_Bull is saying here...one because he is right and second IU fans are subject matter experts on staying ignorant on a winning coaches faults. Many have changed their tune today but when Bobby was hanging banners he could do nothing wrong. Winning!!

If you don't see that coach cal is a defender of the unprivileged youth then you are too far gone. He was way out in front on the unlimited meal thing and one of the hardest pushing for them to get payed.

If Memphis had to vacate an entire season how can anyone justify Louisville and UNC not having to do the same thing?

I'm anxious for the Duke 30 for 30. Everyone explaining why K knew nothing of Maggette , and Thomas will be good watch. And his sideline F bombs and rat faces...made for TV....can't wait.

Not at all. Whats odd is chiming in to say "I didn't watch it". That's like swimming over to the next island to tell your friend you don't feel like swimming today. Just a real head-scratcher.

it's a UK thing, not all of their fans but a good portion of it are paranoid AF. refs, media, tournament committee, etc. all out to get them. Tin foil stock goes up 300% right before college basketball season starts in Kentucky.

    • Sorry guys . . . I'm just not as inspired by you on the subject. Allergies are acting up, and I just can't get emotionally-invested in this like you. I'd kill to have enough energy to be paranoid.
    • I'm now certain you're vaguely familiar with the definition of paranoia, but not confident in it.
    • Also, if people want to say they didn't watch, fine by me. I neither gain nor lose anything. It kind of reeks of "Methinks thou doth protest too much" though. Just kind of comes off as doubtful to participate in something they "didn't watch". . . but to each his own I guess.
    Carry on.

The Two Escobars as well as the one about all of the events that happened the day OJ Simpson made his dash through Southern California in the Bronco are two great ones also. My favorite is definitely Bo Jackson's.

What is the nature of the special - is it a Cal biography that delves into the one-and-done era as part of his narrative? Or is it focused primarily on the OAD stuff?

Any 30 for 30 on a blue blood would be great. The one that involved Kansas was for the rules of basketball, not kansas basketball. If you're a CBB fan, Id say it was interesting. Id have the same opinion if the Duke alumni could have outbid the kansas guy.

If me not watching Saint Cal gets to you, I have a list of other stuff I don't watch, either.
Maybe you should have kept this on RR to make sure you'd have a higher participation rate.

I get not every CBB fan wanted to watch last night, but what is the point of coming on the board and posting that you don't care about it and didn't watch it? Kind of ironic.
