This one of the reasons on letting Shaka go and bringing in Beard. Fans got to the point they knew what they would get with Shaka basketball and living in Austin, there are other things one can do or support. Hopefully Beard builds excitement.- GO_HORNS_GO

Why is it a big mistake? Beard got his degree from Texas in 1995. He was a student assistant under Tom Penders. Beard may have made some Tech "enemies", but he gains Texas "allies". Character?
