They had played 4 games in 18 days coming into tonight. They played Iowa February 28th, got a week off, played two games in the Big10 tournament, got a week off then played tonight. This is normal stuff, no excuse for a college basketball team to look like they're taking oxygen over a stretch...

PurDont losing grasp of their number 1 seed

Also, Virginia has actually won a title under Bennett. Purdue hasn't even sniffed a final 4 in almost 50 years.

There shouldn't be any need for one, it was obvious to anyone who watched who the better player was. Edey is bigger and that's it. Trayce is a better passer, ball handler and far more athletic.

Got to give him credit, IU will need him against Miami.

Kent State has nothing for Trayce, this game looks over.

They've looked gassed since the Purdue game, yet this is only their second game in 14 days. Not sure what they're so tired from.

Woodson always yells at him but he's playing his best, his best just sucks.

Race Thompson might be the worst starter in the Big10 right now and I don't think it's close

I can think of a few Big10 coaches that could learn a thing or two from him about being gracious in defeat. To many coaches in the Big10 make bs excuses when the only real excuse was they got their ass beat. Kudos to Painter, fantastic coach as well.

Indiana matches up well with Purdue in that their guards are far better and they have an all american inside to semi match Purdue's. The question with IU in the tournament is can they get consistent enough production from Kopp, Trey, and Thompson to withstand an off night from JHS or TJD...

We'll keep him until draft night. He gone.

He hasn't had the best season, I agree with that. He's still had a good one for a freshman.

This is the key. Nobody is saying he's had the best season just that he's got the highest upside going forward.

I agree that he hasn't had the best season among the guards in conference, Pickett is also like a 5th year senior. I still wouldn't trade Schifino for anyone heading into the postseason.

That's not even true. He scored 21 points at Michigan and 35 tonight at Purdue, helping IU win two quad one road games and he's averaged 13 ppg on a top 15 team as a true freshman. I'll take it all day, not the best season in the conference but best upside going forward.

He's struggled from three recently but are we pretending that 13 points per game from a true freshman is bad? He hasn't had the best season of all the guards in the Big10 but there isn't a guard in conference I would trade him for heading into the tournament. That's all I'm saying.

He's been thrust into a tough situation with XJ getting hurt, he's really IU'S only ball handler and he was dealing with injuries himself early on. He's struggled from three recently but I'll take 13 ppg and 36% from three out of a true freshman point guard any day.

He's been in double figures each of the last 5 games and he's averaged about 20 over that span. He's been good for longer than one game, what it really looks like is a very talented freshman starting to figure it out at the end of the year.
